It is back on although on a previous firmware, 2.3.3 and the screen is showing in a sepia like way. How can I correct that?

Display showing in a sepia kind of way????????

I really am clueless to what you have done to your poor phone.

Things always go really smoothly for me so thats why Im not much help.

I do my homework. And then some more homework until I know exactly how things are done and always make sure I know what can go wrong and how to resolve it if it does go wrong before I even start.

First things first for you is to get Kies to recognise your phone.Has it ever recognised your phone? Its always nice to have the official repair option at your disposal.

At least your phone is working again. Now just to get that sepia display issue solved.

Good luck.

Best hit the XDA forums to get assistance.

@skblakee: You must be doing something in a wrong way while flashing with Odin. I've flashed hundred of roms on my SGS and now on SGS2 and have never encountered any problem.

Tell me your exact firmware version and your region. You can check by going to dialer :- > *#1234#

I'll check and tell you what files you actually need.

Note: Be sure you exit KIES before flashing with Odin. Kies does not like Odin. [addsig]

Thanks To Buntoo who spent plenty of his time guiding me through the process of updating through Odin and the rooting process between late Saturday (his time 8PM Pakistan)/early Saturday (my time 11am Caribbean) and Sunday. He showed outstanding patience and guidance.

Thanks much to Buntoo. My phone had not been bricked but I simply did not entirely understand the process.

Moderators please lock this thread if you think it appropriate.

I hereby nominate Buntoo for Esatoan of the year if possible.
