Hi Hobbs
I'm from Durban. I did a Wipe/Format again.....still nothing. Went back to Original XFA 4.0.3, and everythings works fine now. Miss the smoothness of 4.0.4 tho....

Yeah, I have tried Google Now... it's ok but like Hobbs I'm kinda fed up that RR3.x is still buggy. So I'll be downgrading to 2.6 with a good kernel. All I care about now is battery life, as I'll be in Vietnam in 2 days, staying for 3 weeks. So I'll be out of charge I need a damn good kernel+ROM for my trip,

can anyone recommend a rom+kernel with super battery life? I keep seeing posts on xda telling us they get 5hrs screen on time but then dont mention what setup theyre on
has anyone here tried undervolting their cpu? thats meant to give better battery life i think

Bugzrock - you just need to flash 4.0.4 and do nothing else. My problems arose because I was trying to root and using the wrong root kernel.

You should be fine unless there is something up with your phone.

@Mriley- I got fed up of trying to tweak and manage apps and manage the screen so I just went and bought the extended battery kit for my phone. I should have it tomorrow and give it a go. Maybe that is your best bet if you have time.

Samsung's Android4.0.4 has great batt life, im averaging 10hours with constant web browsing with Opera Mini, thats hammering it with constant web page loading, multiple tabs, a download or two a long with Twitter app and WhatsApp, with average use it easily does a full day.

Sorry to hear you cant get 4.0.4 working properly.Maybe you should try a different region.

Mriley
Tsepz right about battery life with 4.0.4.Its pretty good.Maybe for your trip flash a Sammie stock 4.0.4 rom.

Enjoying the peace of mind of not constantly updating.I see RR has just released 3.0.4.Thats like 3 updates in 2 weeks.Gets a bit ridiculous.

Sammie 4.0.4 a bit slow when it comes to internet browsing and Facebook. On RR browsing and Facebook were lightning fast but I can live with that for the time being.

Other than that its not to shabby.

Hi Guys. I reflashed again with UK 4.0.4 with NO changes/Mods. Still internet doesnt work. i noticed it deletes the MTN APN's whenever you try to edit them. So I tried my CellC sim....WOrks like a charm! Not sure if it's something with the MTN Sim. I cant even create new APN's.....Strange!!

Very strange indeed.Cant think of why it would do that.Im sure if you do an intensive Google search for that particular problem you will find a solution.Other people must be experiencing the same issue as you.Good luck.Maybe try visiting MyBroadband S2 forums. Those guys are really helpful.

I'm back on RR JellyBean 4.1.1.Couldn't help myself.Every now and again my brain speeds up to such an extent that the Samsung stock roms just can't keep up with me.RR JellyBean can.The difference is so huge its not funny.I could settle for RR 2.6/2.6.1 (4.0.4) Gingerbread because its just as fast and smooth but just knowing that the latest and greatest Android version is out there makes it really hard not to use it.On the 3.0.2 version at the moment but as soon as I get to work tomorrow morning I'm gonna update to 3.0.4.I can't get away from custom roms. They just so much better performance wise and not so heavy.Lightning fast.Cant wait to see whats been done with 3.0.4.
