Hi All,

Can anyone tell me an easy way to add video (DVDs/avi files etc) to my Satio? At the moment I am trying to use media go but it seems unbelievably slow (one file takes hours) and I havent waited for a full file to transfer yet so I dont know if it will even work. To transfer music I have just transferred the files directly using explorer, but am I right in assuming that videos need to be converted in to a special format for the phone?

Thanks
Brian

I think MediaGo auto convert then transfer that's explain why it took longer to transfer. for me i just transfer thru mass storage the equipped 8gig is kinda slow (class 2 )but im sure it's faster than the media go since no conversion in place

Media Go is depend on your system spec, I'm on quad-core 2.4 Mhz it very good one

But I preferred Format Factory to convert file to my satio lower-bitrate but still nice to watch

With Media Go Saving-Space setting transfer video file bitrate almost 1100 Kbps and High-Quality up to 4000 Kbps, I feel somewhat limitation.

I use Format Factory converting mkv 1080p to fit Satio's screen with mp4 avc/h264 it took around 3 and half hour

That sounds like a long time. I've converted 1080p concerts with Format Factory to phone in 1 ½ hour. And in the newer versions you can accually choose your phone and it converts to the best, but I always use 320 kb/s when converting concerts...

Kb/s in sound,right?
Cause in video Satio support bitrate higher than 10mb/s and 29,97fps easily...

To format factory i use 1600kb/s for video bitrate,128kb/s AAC dual audio or higher when the video is a music clip or live show.

Yes of course 320kb/s in sound, would barley be watchable otherwise.

When i will watch something bigger than 10 minutes i choose offline mode.
This save the battery a lot.
The maximum was Avatar movie, drain 30% off.
The video conf.:
Video bitrate 1048kb/s
Audio 128kb/s AAC stereo
23.97@fps
Full screen(640x360)

OK so I have successfully uploaded a video to my satio last night using media go ( it took about 5 hours ) The reason I thought I had to use media go was so it would shrink the file to suit the phones screen size etc, but after looking at the file data the file has ended up at 1.7GB after starting at 700MB!! I must try out format factory and see how that goes for me.

If you have an existing video in avi format, use YAMB to repackage the video as MP4. This is NOT a conversion - it's simply transferring the video and audio stream into an MP4 container. It takes less than 2 minutes to repackage an AVI 700MB movie into MP4.

Also, if it's divx avi, it will play on the satio when repackaged as an mp4.

I always use "any video converter" software, it suppoet many format and when you convert there are options of output device that support it, etc for PSP, Ipod, PDA. if you're looking it on torrent maybe you'll lucky get the full version

YAMB is free and you don't have to convert, so it's much faster.

But sometimes it's no good for example sometimes doesn't read ac3

I usually recode my movies with VirtualDub with XVid at around 1000kbps and mp3 audio (lame codec - bit tricky to install though) and a correct resolution. Then I use Yamb to repackage to mp4 (wish someone could make a patch for this to not be required)
