Was: W995 Walkman.

Hi everyone im new here but i've had quite a few SE to my name, mainly Walkman Phones.
Now i got my W995 just yesterday and been trying to use the useless MediaGo to transfer music to my phone.
Everything works fine until i try to send every song i have on my pc, thats when MediaGo craps itself and starts adding and removing songs or at least it seems.
So im wondering if theres any other program i can use for it apart from media manager.
Also when i rip my cd's into MediaGo and then to the phone it doesnt work, when i try to play them it just says failed.
Been getting quite annoyed at it since yesterday so if any of you could help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

congrats on your new w995...
there are certainly many drawbacks when using media go even though it suppose to make life easier but if you still want to use media go then observe the following:

#1. put all your audio/video files in the media go folder. #2. make all the necessary changes to your file i.e. inserting album art, updating id tag etc. before loading media go. #3. rip everything first to the media go folder on your pc. #4. avoid attaching the dcu-60 cable to a usb hub but instead attach directly to your pc. #5. recommended to shut down your phone for transferring files (mass storage). #6. make sure your files completely loaded in the media go library before attempting to transfer them to your phone. #7. regularly "clean library" after much deleting, transferring, ripping, converting, changing music id tag etc.

my suggestion is to use a third party audio/video converter and do whatever amendments and then transfer them directly to your phone

Second that. Simple copying to the phone is easiest and hassle free option.

You won't find many Media-Go fans. Fastest is to drag'n'drop with a cardreader.

Exactly what I do. The easiest way is through Windows Explorer.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

Sony Ericsson Media Manager works fine and it's the simplest and surest way to attach album art. You won't get to control your audio file info or display Album Art through drag and drop with Windows Explorer

MediaGo would be OK for me if it wasn't for one thing. It keeps downloading podcasts Iv'e already listened to and deleted from the phone. Is there a way to fix this?
Old Media Manager didn't do this...

Yeah, i had a lot of trouble with that software too. It always tries to convert the audio format even when the box is unchecked, and its difficult to understand what files are on the phone and what are in the library. Two things i do - use Winamp instead, as it recognises either media transfer mode or mass storage mode. Files can be edited before transfer but it doesn't transfer the album art. Or i use a program called Directory Opus (which i've used since having an Amiga) which is better than using the Windows file explorer. Use mass storage mode for this.
