I have a w995 and have tried to connect my phone to my home network via wifi(router.) However, both methods (phone name and ip address) did not work. My phone is not branded, so i'm guessing it has got to do with my computer's settings because I have problems configuring a home network as well. I'm running windows xp pro sp2. Any help ip greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Generally, Wifi connection is connection is simple IF the network was open and not encrypted.
Just scan and lock in signal then save settings.

Check your router's status and get the correct IP address. Check your router's owner manual for the http:// address of your router and the login name and password.

Then check to see if you have any encryption on your network! Usually this is the area that people forget! WEP, WAP???

Once you get the settings, save it and you should be set for Wifi in your home!

Remember to shut off Wifi when you do Not need it to conserve battery life!

Good luck!

Hi guys! THanks for the reply.

While I was configuring my brother's laptop to join the house's network, I stumbled upon a 'Workgroup,' which turns out to be my house's home network. It doesn't make sense because I've never once set up a home network named "Workgroup" (I've tried MSHOME and HOME, but never Workgroup). Nonetheless, I got excited and turned on my phone's WiFi and see if it shows up.. Lo and behold, there it is! It did not show up under "Network Places" until I clicked on "View Workgroup Computers".

So, problem solved.

Thanks for the help, anyways!
