Help connecting PC to P800 over bluetooth? |

I'm having a problem with bluetooth. I have my Pc and P800 paired. Both can see eachother, I can send files from my P800 to my pc over bluetooth but when I try and connect to P800 over bluetooth from pc I get the following error :
"The Bluetooth Serial Port COM0 will be used when connecting to device SEP800.
Application that uses this service must be configured to communicate using com0. It can be started at any time."
Click ok and the following message appears:
"The Bluetooth Serial port connection failed: The remote device closed the connection"
The connection request comes through on the P800 and I accept the request but thats when the above error messages appear.
I go into the properties of the connection on the pc, blutooth serial port is set to com 5, try and change but the only options are to change from com 5,6 and 10-15, no com 0. Im using a MSI Bluetooth key(MS-6967) and have downloaded the latest drivers from the manufacturers website. My operating system is WinXP Pro. Am I missing something simple here??
Anyone any ideas?? |

Hi, i use the MSI/pc/p800 combination, i set it up for my t68,....
OK, i can send files to my pc,& so can you.
I can`t make a constant BT connection between them because exactly the same messages appear, BUT then i remembered that you dont need to make a constant connection via bt to exchange stuff, because when you drag & drop to the shared file on the pc the item is sent via bt to the p800 no trouble, job done so why do you want to connect the two devices when not exchanging data, syncing or using as a modem. |

no i cant transfer any files to P800 from pc at all over bluetooth. As i said it sees the device but thats it, i go into my P800 and it says not connected, as in doesnt see P800. I go into My Bluetooth places and i see P800 bluetooth serial prt (not connected). I right click on it and choose connect and after 10 secs of trying to communicate with P800 it appears with the error messages I mentioned. I click on view devices in range and it sees P800. I explore P800 and I see Bluetooth serial port(not connected), Dial up networking (Not connected) and inbox. But thats it! |

Yes same as me,honest, exactly, but do it like this, in my bluetooth places click on "entire BT neighbourhood", then click on p800 (or your phone name), then click on "inbox", OK now THAT window you have there is where you drag & drop the file to from your opened chosen file store. as long as bt is "on" in your phone and you have paired the 2 devices it should work fine.
My setup was done purely using the posts on this forum, this one was a great help. http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=13439&forum=18 |

When I was using the T68i with the bluetooth connected to my computer, everything was fine. Now I am using the P800 and the only thing I could be connected is the cradle and infrared. I can't seem to use bluetooth for dial up or just sending files to my phone. I am using window me. I have been trying to set up the connection between the phone and laptop(Sony Vaio PCG-C1 VS/BT) for the past three days. The worst thing now is that I can't even connect my T68i with my laptop. |

Ok, so now you have done it both ways as i understand it, but now your system of "sending from p8 to pc doesn`t work, OK this is how my set up works, when i send something to my pc via BT it goes to a "shared file" on my desktop, no connecting first or anything like that just as long as the MSI is double blinking it will accept data. this was setup when i followed the link i gave you in my previous post, it`s all in there. |

Download Billionton's latest bluetooth drivers at
http://www.billionton.com.tw/extra/download.htm
Version 1.3.2.7.
No more problems!
Direct connection to your phone. No need to use the serial port first!
I use both Billionton and MSI bluetooth USB adapters.
The software and drivers work for both brands!

I'm using the MSI adapter with the Billonton drivers with my P800, and while it works, it's a bit flaky. I try to connect to the P800's serial port. It claims to have connected it to COM0, then drops the connection. Then, usually, the connection magically picks up again, this time with the configured port (COM6). However, sometimes I have to restart the phone and/or computer to get things working. Anyone found a way round this? And is there any way to initiate the connection from the phone?
Cheers,

I'm using the BlueMonkey adapter with the Billonton drivers. I got the same probs. I find it works better if the phone is pretty close to the dongle for some reason. There is a screen you can bring up that shows the current strength of the bluetooth device. You should try and keep this in the good range.

Read my posts at the end - to sum up, basically click on on the error message and the p800 should establish the port itself. For how long though is a different matter.. |
