Vodafone branded K850i? |

Hey everyone :) I'm so exited because I am getting a Sony Ericsson K850i in 2 days. I have read plenty of negative reviews but I think the people who wrote them don't respect their phones or know how to use them.
Anyway, I bought the phone on bid or buy (like eBay, only in South Africa) and I realised that is is vodaphone edition, which means it is branded (I think).
So if it is vodafone branded, what does that mean and will I lose my warranty if I debrand it? How do you debrand it in anyway?

Branding means that the network puts its own software in the phone and also changes the menu icons instead of the normal SonyEricsson icons or software. Normally it spoils the phones and look of the menus. I believe that yes you can lose warranty if you debrand but if you bought second hand from ebay it wont be under warranty now anyway or am i wrong? Also i think the K850i is now discontinued?

No I bought on Bid or Buy, not E-bay. It is not second-hand, it is brand new and still has 12 month warranty. The person who sold it to me is a distributer and buys directly from Sony Ericsson.
Does it matter if it is discontinued?

Oh sorry misread that. If its brand new then it should be under warranty yes but not sure if its been discontinued if it affects the warranty or not. Just debranding affects warranty although i am still unsure if its just the warranty with Vodafone or SonyEricsson. Anyone else know? |

Got my K850 in August last year from Vodacom, it was Vodafone branded and sucked so i debranded it,havent had any major problems with it since debranding, couldnt careless for the warranty being voided since its not my main phone anyway. That Vodafone branding was seriously unbearable, even had BROD twice, and countless restarts, id rather have a phone thats stable, and useable, without a warranty than one that will be unpredictable and constantly need to be sent in to repair.
