So..its 5.35am. I'm on a night shift..i'm browsing google images...when i spot a pic i like. I think to myself. . I like that. I think i'll keep it..i click view images, then save it..my phones the n82 btw..i then realise that my 'advanced' handset can't set the image full screen..and that annoys the hell out of me (early morning pmt)...i knew this fact already, but, by god, its totally ridiculous. . So..wifi? Check. Plenty of ram? Check. Great camera? Check. Xenon flash? Check. Good web browser? Check. Full screen wallpapers without the aid of 3rd party app? Er. . No. Wtf!!. Ive never been more furious in my life. Lol..what gets on your tits ? |

maybe it didnt set the image full screen because it was not in the aspect ratio that would allow it to fill the screen?

Well even SE "dumb"phones have the ability to crop the image to fit (if you want it to)

Well, larger pictures my N82 adjusts automatically so they fill the whole screen.
Just choose it for wallpaper in the gallery and the phone does the rest. You can rotate it in the gallery before making it wallpaper if you want too.
Amazing phone it is

Other niggling problems and minor/major drawbacks:
1. Redesign the messaging app. They need to integrate Conversations.
2. For the love of God, provide the functionality to view HTML e-mails.
3. The default Nokia browser seems too slow. No wonder almost everyone on S60 uses Opera.
4. Users should have a lot more flexibility to rearrange the menu. Besides, the horseshoe and U formats suck big time after the novelty factor has worn off.
5. USB charging: The N85 is a step in the right direction. Does Nokia expect everyone to move around with a freakin charger??
6. Nokia Download is a joke that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
7. Nokia Maps - It takes AGES to render or compute triangulation positions. GMaps is a Java app but can do it faster, so there's something wrong with NMaps. Anyways, navigation on the S60 is light years slower than on dedicated PNDs like my nuvi.
8. Simplify the overall interface. I started my S60 journey with the 6600 and 6630, went on to the N80 and E71 and have been using the N95-2 for the past year. I think the interface has gotten clunkier (sp?) and too deep. There are tons of examples to support my claim.
9. Programming on the S60 platform is ridiculous, even for semi-pro programmers. Newbies have no hope in hell of conjuring up a decent app.
I'm sure there are a lot more grievances but these are all I could think of right now.

sorry..i failed to explain properly..i can save an image that is the correct size, and set it as a wallpaper, but it doesn't fill the screen..it just sits in the centre (sorta like widescreen dvd ). I may again, not have explained it properly, and again, i appologise. I am very tired and considering murdering some pensioners to stop me missing my bus stop. |

He means to say that any image you set on Nokias as wallpaper, it doesnt cover the whole screen i.e. the part of screen where network, clock and battery indicators are displayed is not covered by the wallpaper but by the stupid theme...
