i've always been using the k-series phones and lately tried the g-series, only to realize i like my phones with good camera functions, and simple, fast UI. so, i'm dumping the g-series and wanna go back to the cybershot series but i don't really like the C902/702/905.

any recommendations which other new or upcoming cybershot phones i can look out for?

thanks all

How about trying something a bit different? The W902 seems to be the classiest phone in the entire SE lineup right now and has great specs to boot. You'll miss out on GPS (compared with the C702/905) but it does have an accelerometer (absent in the C702/902) and 5MP cam (compared to the 3.2 snapper in the C702).

The C702's 3.2mp cam, outperforms all 5mp Cmos camphones.

you'd never get a sharp low-light pic like that
http://www.esato.com/phonepho[....]&make=sony+ericsson&model=c702

out of a 5mp camphone.

I was being serious the 3.2mp are better than the 5mp, The C series are all using roughly the same sensors just with different megapixel counts, aperatures & focal lenghs, The C702's & C902's photos look very much the same in terms of colour & clearness but the C702 doesn't require so much post-processing so pics are better detailed as the megapixels go up the quality goes down until we get decent sized ccd sensors. 5 & 8 megapixels on a small cmos sensor just doesn't work as kodak proved

Oh, please. Saying that a C702 outperforms even a K850 is laughable. Even my K810 produces better pics!

I'm not a big fan of heavy noise reduction and post-processing, so thats why i prefer the C702.

c902 is a bit better then k800/k810 and k800/k810 is a bit better then c702....and so on
and if you prefer c702, then you should do that

edit...same pictures as above.....(both had 100% brightness of course).

I didn't like my k800 that much, it had some weird mist problem pics were sometimes unclear & the post-processing was too heavy more that it actually needed.
After my K750 cid:36 which produced pics of this quality
http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/viewphotos.php?pid=12091
the k800 was slighlty disappointing. The K750 cid:36 had a great cam se even had to downgrade it in the cid:49's so it wouldn't show up the k800.
I'm happy with my C702 i can have great pic quality again.

The a2 modd are just starting... A while ago k800 had a bad camera... Remember comparisons with k750?Well,today we can't say "k750 camera is better cause this, cause that!".And for why?Because people had time for developing camdrivers and test a lot of values. And,who knows if it will not be the same way with the k850?We know all about new camdriver?Let's see what happens from now on.

I don't really fancy the design of the W902...I did consider the C902 but the camera slide scratches made me hesitate. I considered the C702 as it was dust resistant, but the camera held me back. I searched through the forums and found this upcoming model W705. Any good? I also saw the Filippa model, which feels sturdy enough.

I've had a K850 and a G900 which both didn't perform. I took better pictures, faster, with my modded K750. Granted, you could call me a lousy photographer...but are these cameras meant to be idiot-proof to a certain extent?
