Want to know what kind of photos you get when putting a small CMOS sensor in a regular P&S? Then look at these full size Kodak C513 photos (the C513 is the world's only 5 MP point-and-shoot digicam from a leading camera producer):
(You may have to skip the DeviantArt promos to see the photos.)

(More photos can be found with Google.)

They look like typical camphone photos, don't you think? Quite similar to N95-1 photos actually, especially the low light shots with the typical water color effect from the noise reduction.

Yes, there are a lot of 5 MP P&S digicams, but only one with a CMOS sensor from one of the well known camera makers.

Update: Using DPReview's comparison tool I found two more CMOS point-and-shoot digicams: Samsung's 2 MP Digimax 202 and Kodak's 0.3 MP (VGA) mc3. Google returns some Digimax samples, some a bit weird and NSfW so I won't post links here.

Update 2: Compare the 5 MP low light shots from the C513 in the first post with for example the following from a typical point-and-shoot 5 MP CCD, the Canon SD450 which incidentally has the same ICX495 sensor as the i-mobile 902:

Notice the lack of water color effect!
