Hi and welcome!

Just think of the P1 as the revamped P990i. It is very stable and not buggy. In terms of speed I find it a tad faster even though they use the same processor- better optimization I guess.

P1 is bug free compared to P990. It has minor bugs with the built in browser only which won't annoy an everyday user...

@tranced thank you for moving my topic
@emso6 thank you for the welcome

Im not new here. i have been ban for 4 years now didn't feel for esato any more since i wasn't welcome to use the forum....that's the pass now

I have never used a symbian device before my current phone is k310.....

a friend of mine told me that his p990 was very bad. his phone had major crashes during phone calls and application then it would automatically restart even if the phone was not in use. (don't mean the its turned off) and it turned him away from sony ericsson............i really would want that experience since i love sony ericsson gone to heaven

I would just like to know

1) can customize/mod uiq devices to your preference...such as changing icons, sounds/GUI. (i would want it to look like windows mobile or similar to windows mobile)

2) does p1 has major crashes during calls, using more than 6 applications also switching between applications (i know it may restart when the phone drops but, that's not a problem to me)

3)will the phone respond to a 8 gig memory card

4) the overall performance with p1

Hi echo,

P1i is very stable and almost never crashes, I have run 21 apps in background without it crashing.
Its never crashed on me during a phone call.

UIQ3 is very moddable, there are a lot of hacks and tweaks to customize it and tweak the interface but as of now, there are no hacks to change the position of the icon u mentioned

You might want to check out this post - http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=174319 to know more about the P1i

rest assured, its a very reliable and usable phone IMO

Honestly, and after using the P910i for over 3 years I think that was a stupid decision to place the bar at the top. Totally uncomfortable to use!

P1i doesnt have an accelerometer.

Id say check out the k850 discussions to know its pros and cons and decide based on what your needs are .

as a personal choice id choose the p1i , but thats becasue it serves my needs, PDA, nice touchscreen UI etc
