Hi everyone,

I just got a SE W760i, however when I try to update by turning off phone, removing battery, reinsert battery, etc, then hold C while plugging in cable, the phone just loads the mass storage session, not the update procedure?

What can I do?

Thanks,

Tom

Or if it is prototype phone... That may be a problem aswell...

I don't know how many official firmware versions are released for that phone... Anyway when we are talking about prototypes, some prototypes had problems with updating when the oficial firmware was released for them

The phone isn't turned on while you're plugging it into the USB cable, right?

Thanks for the replies.

I've got a new one coming tomorow now anyway, it was ordered from O2, so I doubt that it is a prototype (well I hope it isn't!).

I'm trying to debrand it, but everytime I try to get it into C mode (the phone is switched off, etc), it just switches on. The K850i and K810i I had before had no problems with this?

Thanks,

Tom.

Well which program you are trying to debrand with... You know this phone cannot be debranded like K800 or K810 because of it's platform... As far as I know ths phone has the new A200 platform and flashing is not free for it right now... Perhaps, if you are using some of the online clients (davinci or etc...), try checking your flash drivers if they are properly installed, or try reinstalling them...

P.S. For other users that own a new series phone and want to update their firmware (if an update is available), they can do this by folowing this short tutorial:

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=171599

although SEUS is very easy to use even without any tutorial, but in case, it's better when you are sure you won't have any trouble... Plus, SEUS is universal and works with EVERY phone no matter the platform, CID and etc...

For DB2020 users that own phones like K800/810 and etc... Do not use SEUS if you plan to mod your phone... SEUS updates DB2020 phones to CID53 and makes their moding impossible...

You need to hold 5 on the keypad as the C button is also the power button on this phone.

Yep 5 is the key you must be holding , any other key the phone will go into wrong boot mode.
