Is there really any diff between this and N95 apart from the obvious?
Looking at a N95 or N95 8GB now
Appart from the Colour, The Smaller keys,
and bit bigger display and 8GB theres a difference
I wish I asked Vodafone about this over the phone last week they may of let me have it abit cheaper and I know the take in old handsets and give you 100 for them too ...
Sigh.. well im sure 2009 for this phone will be worth the wait im sure i'll get 1 for 75 me hopes then from Vodafone
btw does anyone know how to get the Voda live settings and MMS sent to there phone? I want them for my N80IE

Did any of you guys know that the N95-8GB is running a slower CPU than normal N95? N95-8GB running a 292mhz processor whilest normal N95 running 334mhz,check the JBenchmark site
are you sure about that? I didn't find N95 8GB on the JBenchmark site. Can you give us the link? |

@Ridahz
Sorry missed your post earlier, it really depends what you mean by the obvious but here are the differences.
All black and better build qaulity
Bigger larger brighter screen
25% larger battery that due to demand paging estimated to give an extra 50% Battery life performance
128m Ram with demand paging making it more efficient and considerably faster.
Start down to 22seconds from 35 seconds and moving through the Menu and apps is also faster.
8gb flash memory drive already installed.
I don't think i missed anything but it really is very different to the original IMO.
@all
I really have no idea what is going on at JB Benchmarks but even though there results say estimated they are just so wrong check out the rating for the P1 as it says it has a CPU @177mnz and we all that is 208mhz it also says it has a 16million colour screen and we know that is a 256k screen. Also for most things it only gives 1 star to the P1 so i really don't know what is happening but their figures all seem very off IMO.

Thanx a lot for clearing that up, i was suprised when i saw the JBenchmark results. They've got a lot of typos on their site,and some careless mistakes with the P1 there.

Its also possible that those results could have been affected by installing applications on the flash memory (8GB) which has a slow rpm as I am sure you all noticed when transfering date to it. So this could impact quite badly and on benchmark results.
Also my understanding is that they could have tested a beta unit which is more than likely.

Well the lens is recessed so not sticking out so unless you have items in your pocket it should not scratch easily IMO. Having said i have only had mine a week but my devices always go into a good quality leather case my case of choice currently is from PDAir Flip case.
As for the slide again mine is only a week old and is still stiff and solid no wobble at all, but i would also imagine a lot depends on how people treat them.

Hi all,
Well my phone is now branding free so a proper and full review will be coming shortly covering all aspects of the device. Some pictures have been taken and posted in the K850i vs N95 pic quality. With a mention that i really am not even an average photographer and as it is Autumn and very rainy the pictures where taken in overcast weather with the occasional break through of some sunshine.

Marc,
How's your N95 8gb doin?
Am considering it but waiting to try the N82 first before deciding. If N82 price is too close to the N95 8GB, might as well plunge for the flagship phone. As you mentioned that we are not true photographers, inclusion of flash in the N82 is important but not a big factor. The 8GB storage may be more important. Just need to add 3rd party accelerometer software to make it function like the N82, that's it. |

@kokoko
Whilst some may of suffered from this in the early batches my original N95 didn't and this new one also doesn't. In fact as i have stated before with well encoded Music and a good pair of headphones it has now replaced my iPod as the quality is just as good IMO.

dogmann,
just got my n95 8gb on vodafone. seems great so far. coulple of questions though regarding the internet before my sim goes live next week.
you've installed windows live messenger and fring. is the used data included in the vodafone mobile internet package? are there any other apps that cost extra to use?
also, before you debranded, which voda apps did you remove to make it run smoother?
cheers |
