Absolutely fake. The design is not SE-like at all. |

Mmmmmmm! Thats a very good fake.
Does the speaker aperture remind you of anything?

^Definitely looks fake, though it's a fairly good concept.
P3i = 3 way slider
That's the latest from the grape vine...

Very nice concept, infact the only thing missing is the SE 123 designation.
I've heard about the p3i being a 3-way slider. Wouldn't that make it a N95'ish slide down for keypad, up for media buttons and slide to the side for Qwerty? Sounds a bit, well, fat?

Well depends what you mean by 'fat', although I'd consider that the target market for the P3 wouldn't have thinness on the top of their priorities.
The design would be very much like a combo between the N95 dual slide (which share the same level), plus the Helio Ocean dual QWETY/numeric keypad slide.

Hmm, the Helio Ocean would be a departure from SE design in my eyes and a 3-way slider would still make it quite largesque.
I would imagine a 3-way slider to include both a qwerty and keypad? So how many ways of inputting text would that be? 4, including on-screen keyboard and handwriting recog?
Are there actually any other 3-way slider devices out there right now? What would one look like

This kind of sliding tricks are reducing the size of the screen...
The size of the screen is much more important!

A 3-way slider sounds to me like 'one upmanship' on the N95's two way slider and I can't find any other examples of one on the internet, at all.
When you think about it, people were ambivalent about the M600/P1i keyboard solution, so it wouldn't surprise me if SE gambled on ditching it altogether for the solution we see above, PLUS it also has an iPhone look about it.

Dont you think they should make one buissnes oriented phone and one phone aimed for massmarket (or more like P1 and W960).
Both phones got the same speccs but different design and software, ie. buissnes phone got querty-keybard and the "fancy" one got only touchscreen or normal numberpad. The software in the P series is more "read mail and not miss meetings". |

Exactly my thoughts.Well,I asked PeterKay if thats the case(in the M-R SE Annoucements thread yesterday),but he hasn't said anything so far.
So my motivation is,HOW is it possible to cram a full QWERTY keyboard,a numeric one, and multimedia keys in the available space?I doubt SE will use Helio-ish style. After all, there must be some powerful hardware,3.2/5MPix camera,a powerful battery, speaker(s) and so on.If they use Helio keypad, the phone will end up some 30mm thick...no thanks.
