If you nitpick then N95 and any other phone built quality may not be good enough. People get the N95 for what it can do and not just to look at it. What's the use of better built quality (e.g P990) when the stability and reliability was crap. Except for SOME with wobbly sliders, the N95 is on the whole solidly built (no creaks or peeling paint).

Not SOME, the MAJORITY. Also, those who have tight sliders to start with won't have after 6 months! They are an incredibly bad, incredibly cheap design.

You are DEAD wrong. A few of my friends bought the N95 recently and all their N95 dont have wobbly slider. I have my N95 for nearly 5 months and the slider is still as tight as when I bought it. So dont presume.

@mib1800. Mate, you're too biased towards nokia for anyone here to believe you, even if they wanted to. You shouldn't make it too obvious you know.

@sunking101

Really and just what evidence do you have to support this ludicrous claim then? do you have a million plus people with that problem as that what be the majority wouldn't it?

Also please can i borrow your crystal ball as would love to get the winners of a few horse races could be quite useful that.

I humbly suggest you get back to your wonderful P1 and continue to resolve the issues you keep posting about rather than cluttering this thread with your fantasies and wishful and deluded thinking.

@myth®

I wait with anticipation for your response as I'm sure it will be worth it.

@mode

Hello pot calling kettle because of course you are entirely fair and even handed and have absolutely no bias for SE do you?

The amount of comedians on this Forum is growing by the minute any one that likes or supports a Nokia device is of course a liar and a Fan boy while of course all you SE Fan boys are just so right and fair LMAO.

Denial is not a river in Egypt it is a perpetual state SE fan boys can found in. Let it never be said that facts or reality cloud your judgement.

Marc

Are you suggesting I should lie to make N95 look bad? Or I should lie to make the P1i look good?

@mib1800, the n95 do peel off, especially the chrome plated, it peels off badly that i had to sell mine, easily worn off, had it for less then a month.

they should make the n-series as good as most of the e-series to say the least, in terms of quality

Just wanted to add a remark here... too bad the majority of the posts is about personal attacks and mindless screaming.

First of all, the N95 and the P1i are both excellent phones but also completely different. The N95 is the true multimedia device and the P1i more office/business minded.

I owned the N73 before (also not perfect build quality with joysticks popping off and squeeking out of the box, but luckily I had no probs apart from the squeeking which was easily solved with a piece of paper) and my main gripe was the lack of touchscreen and qwerty keyboard. Since I use my phone as organizer a lot having to type sms-style and the slower navigation in for example the calendar just annoyed me a lot. This also put me off the N95. I love being able to tick a proper day and enter information quickly.

Ofcourse the N95 boasts a very nice cam totally blowing away the P1i cam at this time, is a true multimedia device and has gps. The N73 cam also whooped the P1i's ass, but the N73 cam was a lot slower. The P1i cam boots in about 2 secs and takes the same time to save a picture. With the N73 this was all doubled. Can't judge about the N95 cam speed but from what I heard it's not the fastest either.

All in all they are totally different phones for totally different users and while both most certainly are not perfect they are both far from the crap some posters try to make them seem. My luck was that I didn't own a P990 but came from the N73 making this worth the money but I CAN imagine that a P990 owner would not spend the cash for the few extras the P1i offers.

dagrim1... how on earth are you getting 2 secs start time on the p1i camera?

the fastest camera start up i've seen is the n93/i

the rest are 5-7 secs depending on the weather... n73, k790, n95, p1i

Mm - some people think functionality means that the UI should offer choices like 'connect fast' or 'connect faster'. And some think functionality means having the option to fiddle around with all the settings available. Also, they complain if something is 'dumbed down'. And while the s60 series isn't exactly particularly much worse than other mobile platforms, it's definitively made with the idea in mind that the customer would want, and be happy with, choices like 'blue or red buttons', or long or short beep.

And, you know, for those of us who would like to see some more ambitious attempts on mobile platforms, that kind of attitude is basically the worst thing possible.

Still, if people like the phone, so be it. Just don't argue that devices like the p1 is a failure because they don't look ebough like something out of a doll's house, or doesn't guide you enough by the ears when you're using it.

Complain about the actual problems instead. or assault it for the choices they've made on design and idea. Otherwise you're just complaining that apples aren't oranges or something.

I agree with Dagrim1, there is far too much outlandish slagging off of two excellent devices, with the usual suspects making stupid and petty points about the P1i or N95 dependant upon which one they happen to own!!.
It never fails to amuse me when i see knowledgable and intelligent human beings lose all rational thought in an effort to justify their purchase over someone else's. .

Well, this is when the camera is loaded in memory ofcourse... But really, counting the second it's between two and three seconds. (Updated to the newest firmware and WORLD1 region phone now).
