Nokia admits mobile battery issue |

Here is a site showing pictures of all the phones affected as you'd be surprised how many people don't even know what their phone is called.
(Funny how the same battery is used in the 1100 as it is in the high-end N91! the 1100 must have an unbelieavably long talk time. )

i'm glad that my N91's battery is not included in the recall. what a relief!!! hehe...
It is mate
@Mario
I just thought of that as well. Remember they have had >100 reported cases of battery problems, and I guess they were just trying their best to avoid the problem of recalling millions and millions of batteries.
But Nokia is suffering quite a lot from this.

@miss uk: to check your battery, you can go to this site :
http://batteryreplacement.nokia.com/batteryreplacement/en/
Masseur already posted the link on the first page of this topic.
"Made in China" doesn't say anything, a friend bought a N70 recently, battery "Made in China" also, but it has to be replaced.

I think what happened back there when the SAID batt EXPLODED or got BURNED was just an ISOLATED case . . . the PUNITIVE result should not be generalized in whole . . .

@marly - Well, I guess that's just a FRACTIOn out of the MILLIONS that they wanted to make a RECALL/REFUND to . . . Why don't just Nokia GIVE a nice N95 to those UNLUCKY 100-customers + damage $$$ cost !

Yes, 100 is a very, very small fraction of 46 millions, but I wouldn't want to be the owner of one of those 100.
As it occurs, when the batteries get older, there would be more cases, when Nokia wouldn't replace them, it's the only thing they can do.

Someone mentioned 'Nokia shares took a big knock' because of this problem. Well, that much said: Nokia shares gained yesterday after dropping the previous 2 days. The market realised the main reason for the drop was profit taking after huge gains in the last few weeks and months (the introduction of N95 was/is seen as a major booster) Nokia shares are close to the best levels which were attained on Monday (best level for the last 7 years !) While world markets tumbled yesterday, Nokia shares went up once again
