if the classic had a mem card slot and AF it would make the phone perfect. Both are nice handsets though. Maybe they will introduced a (i) version for the classic with a AF and mem card slot??

@ Aware,
LOL, da wanqsta is OK thanks.
The Classic is bound to sell well... particularly if priced in 6300 territory, which hasn't been a slouch on the sales charts at all...

Fair enough, the 6300 has a card slot, but methinks there'll be plenty wooed by this stylish (IMHO) and far more slender (9.5mm) handset.

The 6500 Slide supports "dual-band UMTS"? Does that mean it will work on the 2100 European and 850 American frequencies?!!!!! Very nice! |

More great phones from Nokia. When will SE catch up
They already ahead check out the earlier announced t650 it's the form of the classic but with better or matching features to the slide.the classic 6500 has only qcif video so t650 is better.

Those phones are good but i find the classic version of 6500 to be a reminiscent of Samsung C100 by which it tells us some kind of lack of own design intelligence of Nokia, similar thing as 6500 slide which resembles it's symbian twin N80
but i liked the 6500 slide, for me it has the best quality among nokia phones so far, no buggy symbian, no battery guzzling Wifi, and probably no sliding problems due to it's metal chassis but i worry for it's battery because of the 16M colors

the 6500 classic rear profile is identical to the T650s. which means some sort of copycating!

no battery probs on e61/i despite 16 m colours, though... And,btw, no buggy symbian either - very fast, and in 9 months it didn't freeze/hang once! (...and I do use it very very much!)

there is one glaring difference b/w the back of 6500 and T650, and that is that 6500 doesnt have an ugly camera module sticking out. |

@qvga
the t650 cam module does not stick out much at all. ok it sticks out a tad, but its not a rediculous amount imho. well at least nothing to complain about. especially when only seeing it in photos. I will leave my judgement for when i hold it in my hand if it does stand out too much.... and i dont think there will be any disadvantages of it sticking out a little..... well each to their own i guess

Something tells me the 6500 Slide will be my next phone.
Finally, a slide with 3.2MP autofocus camera thats not a Samsung or a smartphone

What I'm really waiting for is the N82...5mp and VGA recording at 30fps. |
