It's great that phones like the W610 can now stream stereo music wirelessly over thanks to the A2DP protocol. But the W610 lacks AVRCP. Do you need AVRCP to control the phone via another device?

I ask because of the increasing number of car stereo options for listening to stereo music from your phone over (examples below). These have the AVRCP protocol, can they control a phone like the W610?


  • Alpine's KCE-300BT add-on for its car stereos
  • Parrot's MK6000 add-on car kit for factory car stereos
