Hi...

This may sound crazy, but my memory stick pro duo (which I use in my p990i) does not play mp3s greater in size than 4.2 MB. It copies them and shows them up fine, but just...wont...play.

Any ideas??? I've tried re-formatting, FAT-FAT32 changes... i've even upgraded the software on the p990..have the latest one now...but nooo

thanks!!

My K750 does. I know it's a long shot, but if this is not stanbdard for P990 (which I doubt it is) have you tried a master reset, or possibly a firmware update? Might be worth a try.

I think the problem is your MP3.
As far as i know, SE can play MP3 with bitrate 196 kbps and lower.
Maybe your MP3's have higher bitrate.

I have many songs more than 4.2 MB size since I always converted songs to 160 or 196 kbps MP3 files. The songs stored in 2 GB Sony High Speed MSD Pro inserted to my P990 and all can be played normally.

I use AAC mostly, file sizes often larger than 3MB and I have also the odd MP3 which is usually larger than 3MB. I've played 256Kbps mp3's no worries (though K750 only supports 192Kbps for mp3 - so quality is limited to 192 playback)

The problem should be with its firmware or so. I have PVD's Reflections at 320kbps every single track and there's a delay every time a track is about to play.

Agreed. Do the format. This issue will be a problem with format or the host.
