The W850i is a very decent phone with excellent Walkman Software and sound. Use the search function for reviews or pictures. Many topics have been made about the w850i. Great phone overall. all you have to worry is about over usage of the d-pad that's all. |

I would pretty much agree with 3nergiz3d.
As for the d-pad issue, read this: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=137114

i miss edge in that fone and the slider is big negative factor, cos of the cable solution, at block fones, u dont have to be afraid that it brakes.

I had a W810i and just got a W850 a few weeks ago and there is no doubt that the later is the better phone in terms of features.
I personally don't find texting and moving around the menu's as easy as the W810i as it used to just fit perfectly in my hands and I like the pad design on that, and the W850 can be a bit fidly at times. The autofocus and the better flash are about the only thing I miss though...

Used one for a few days and really didn't like it, its nothing new on the w810 really. Just in a crappy slide form factor with dodgy directional pad.

i am a w800 user, but used my sisters w850 for a week and i was kind of happy with it.i liked the bigger screen,WALKMAN 2.0 and the looks of the phone.
but the cam really sucks compared to the w800's.

I have mixed emotions about the W850.
It's a great phone alright, especially the music features, which is a given in any SE Walkman phone. However, the lack of auto focus makes it somewhat mediocre, especially since my previous phone was a W800. Honestly, I'm baffled that SE opted to take away auto focus from what is supposedly a high end phone.
And since it's a slider phone it took me a while before I managed to come to grips with texting and basically just using the phone. My fingers were aching at times, especially during texting because there were moments when it was just too cumbersome.
Now I'm thinking if I should've just stuck with my W800 or bought a W950 instead.
Oh well, there's no point in crying over spilled milk now, is there?

I'm really pleased with mine and have had no problems as yet. The walkman is great but the camera isn't that good, but then again, I didn't get a walkman phone for the camera.
The only dissapointing thing for me is the branding that is on the phone. This is the first SE phone I've ever had which has had branding on. Even the first T610 I had from Voda had no branding (I got lucky there!). I am still thinking about wotaning it because o2 have removed the 'My Presence" feature which I wanted to use.
I think that there are a few things that I would have made different but nothing is perfect. Overall I'm really happy with it.
