Don't be surprised to see the Kodak brand name appear on more mobile phones than cameras in the not-too-distant future.

ESATO NEWS

The U.S. imaging icon aims to put as much of its technology as possible inside what it expects to become the dominant consumer picture-taking device the camera phone, according to a senior executive from Kodak.

"The compact digital camera is a short-term phenomena; it's going to be eclipsed by the camera phone," Fred Seibl, general manager Kodak in Stuttgart, said Wednesday in an interview on the sidelines of the Photokina imaging show in Cologne. "We would like to see a lot of our technology in those phones, and we are already taking steps to achieve that goal."

dunno about this; would put both cybershot and kodak insignias on one phone? wouldnt that qualify as conflict of interest, brand clashing, or an identity crisis? on another note, that's an old kodak logo they put on the k610 back.

Kodak make good quality cameras with good ergonomics except for one thing, the menu system sucks compared to Cybershot, or even the K750 camera menu.

So I hope personally that they don't adopt the kodak menu style in SE camera phones.

i think mobile phones would be better off using their own camera modules as the k800i was cybershot branded and to be hones i refer the k750i camera , also when nokia tried so hard with carl zeiss on ther eoverated cam phone te n90 the camera looked yellow and dirty lol:)

Actually most cybershot cameras use Carl Zeiss lenses, so it's not such a long shot to expect to see Carl Zeiss on SE Cybershot branded phones eventually...
