Just though I'd ask. I mean why does SE insist on having a branding area on every phone that they make? No other manufacturer needs to have one, so why SE? The branding wrecks the look of some phones, and wouldn't it be much nicer without the un-flush surface of the branded area?

its something we all gotten used to i gues.
except on the J100, the area is almost as big as the screen
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA

its like everything in life.... they want ppl who dont own the phone to be able to see what manufacturer it is without having to ask!

And money.... why does everyone moan about phone branding yet when u buy a car u dont moan that it has the manufacturers name and badge plastered in a few different places which is essentially the same!

its still not a sony fone afaik, they should advertise their own rubbish in the sony area imo anyway, a solid logo or text do fits the fone, cos its also a kind of "mobile commercial" for the brand.

On the SE W810i the branding area is no problem at all, it doesn't wreck the design. It's almost as if it's part of the design, really.

indeed, the "w" does fit it, and however its another sony crap feature, its more simple designed then the above mentioned cybershot text.

Yeah, well I don't mind having the or Cybershot logo plastered on my phone, but it's those ones that the network is meant to use. Like the area at the bottom of the K610 that says 3. Or even the one on the M600 (above). They just don't fit.

No, but to show which service provider you have a contract with and which service provider "sponsored" your mobile phone.
