Yes indeed. Following from yesterday topic, Carphone Warehouse can't fix the phone, they insist it's unfixable due to 'water damage' (not possible it didn't get wet)

Anyway I'm left with a K750i with no screen. It does turn on, it will receive calls, but I can't see the screen. I need to get my SMSs out of it and my contact numbers.

I'm thinking of using the PC but I have only ever used the USB link to get the photos out, nothing else, any clues?

Can anyone help?

Cheers all

You can use FAR manager. See link below:

use myphoneexplorer. http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ install the program, connect the usb cable. and press connect in the file menu. it will automatically detect your phone and it automatically download all your contact and your sms to the pc.

Hi there, thanks for the offer but my contract has just run out and I'm going to pick up an N93 in about 10 days when they become available - I'll pop this one on here for sale though so if you want to fix it it yourself no problem

b3rx is right.

For your interest is better to use MyPhoneExplorer than FAR but beware, after trying it you may change your mind regarding buying a Nokia...

Well I know what you all mean but even though I've beeen using SE for the past 2 phones (P900 then K750), the only phone that does what I want - good video - is this the N93 right now.

+ I have to say, I'm 6ft7 and I have hands bigger than most of your bodies - I *LIKE* bricks

I know what you mean. Some phones are too small for me too.

I haven't actually tried, but I thought you could read/send/delete text messages from the SE communication suite that came on the software CD?

Is it that the screen doesn't display at all, or it's just the backlight that's gone? Try viewing the screen from a few different angles in the light.

It could be worth trying to fit a replacement screen to see if that makes any difference, if you feel brave enough to try this!
