I hate when you swap sim cards the phone asks you to setup again and the T9 goes back to defaults

When your watching a movie and plug headphones in the display does not stay on

Solution to the problem is before you plug them in pause the movie

Phone Number One;

Seemed completely fine except that i could never access the games or applications, and when trying to access either folder the error was 'operation failed'

I sent this handset back and it was exchanged for a new one...wish i had kept the first one, haha!
Phone Number Two;

1) I can now access the games folder, and the games. But intermitently when trying to open a game the phone will completely free at the Java icon. Then the phone needs to be turned off by taking the battery out, as nothing else will respond. I then have to do a master reset in order to get this to work again.

2) When first out of the box the camera wasn't functioning propery, when i opened the shutter it would just hang at the 'Cybershot' logo, after doing a master reset everything is okay now with the camera.

3) The phone hangs constantly in random situations, and needs to be turned off by taking the battery out, for example; I have just tried to delete opera mini from the games folder, it took 2 minutes for it to ask for confirmation, and then another 6 minutes of deleting, before i decided to just turn the phone off and back on.

I genuinely am happy with the potential of the phone, but half the time it's potential i can't get access to because it doesn't work as intended. Or to get things to work, I need to reset the settings, which means i then have to re set up the phone to just how i like it.
Having to take the battery out and do a master reset like 10 times a day is a pain in the ass.

Should i ask for o2 to replace it again, or wait for the firmware update, by which time they might not replace it?

Maybe I've been quite lucky, I haven't had it freeze, or crash (yet), the build quality is solid, the only niggle being a firmware issue of the green lines during recording...

Cheers

Mine is rock solid also....hasnt locked up (yet). The only issue I have is the power button. Turning the phone on is a hit-or-miss affair. I can verify that the power button works correctly through the keypad test in the service menu.

Since I rarely press the power button, it's not an issue, It's just a shame it's not the same style as the k750/w800 series' power buttons

You should def. get it replaced, the delays and freezes do not sound normal at all, especially considering that nobody else is experiencing it.

Hi,

Im new to this forum but thought id mention about my k800i on O2:

got it on a free upgrade 2 days after it was in the stores and so far no major problems.

-As to the freezing etc - not happened once
-never use radio so can't comment
-Video feature fine (i.e no green lines - but still poor quality CIF)
-no problems with file transfers, but was a fiddle installing the drivers from the supplied CD
-No problems in loading OR taking pictures in Facewarp

Few issues though

1) Image stabiliser in Camera Mode (not Video) - It doesn't exist - is this a firmware update... anyone know??
2) When rotating pictures in file manager I found it started to place the image as file No:1 and delete the original file No:1 or No:2 (random). Not a free space issue - any others tried it (rotate several to see)?
3) When I first turned the phone on it gave me an option to register the product automatically with SE, I declined as I had the 3G sim in and later used my original sim - I want to register it but cant find the option in the phone or on the website (other than adding it to my SE profile online)
4) The Golf Game does hang up as if it is in standby, and takes several seconds to wake up

Few other nuances, but can't think of them now. If anyone can answer 1,2 or 3 I would be grateful

Cheers

@ shazzydoosh

i think image stabilizer is only present in camera if you are in landscape or twilight mode. i don't own a K800 yet, but that's what i've read.
i can't wait to get my own K800.

I've had the K800i hang couple of times too.

Also when the screensaver kicks, the screen goes white for a second before displaying the screensaver. Anyone else get this?

One that i find annoying is when you press a key while the keypad is locked, the screen comes up and then suddenly dims down.

Anyone else got an unresponsive joystick combined with the UI slowing making the options simply not move?!

Well an update on this one. After being told that there was defo crap under the joy cap I got a new phone sent out and this one is COMPLETELY different. I mean it even feels different. There is a bowl like dip in the top of the cap whereas the last one was completely flat ontop like my old T68 one was.
What's the normal sort of shape for this K800 joystick? Cause I think I had some duff old thing on mine!

If you listen to a music track, it's possible to fast forward and rewind using right/left "press and hold" with the joystick. Why is that not possible with a video sequence?

It is possible to fast forward and rewind videos but only if you use the video player.
