Well i strolled into the 02 shop yesterday and asked if they had any K800's in stock, to my suprise they said yes , i then asked how much on there low tarrif and they said £79.00. So i took out a new contract as my exisiting one has a few months to go so i could'nt upgrade just yet. Then at the end of the paperwork they realised that it actually costs £129.00, not £79.00 !!

The good news is they let me have it for £79.00, there cockup

I did want to use my exisiting sim but i could'nt because the new sim is 3g, so my old simm won't do it, that means telling all my new number, oh well.

So anyway been playing with it for a day and i have noticed that listening to radio there is a high frequency morse code going on in the right ear mainly, sometimes the left ear as well. It can do it while manually scanning, or even when you are listening to a radio station, it stops and starts, bloody annoying !

anyone else suffering from this ?

Also i find the keypad very clicky loud to use, like if you want to type a text message for example, i am comparing to my existing k750 which is nice and quiet, anyone else notice this ?

I properly have a duff one regarding the morse code problem, thats my sort of luck, if there is a duff one in the shop i will get it

Otherwise a great phone, but maybe going back though !!

Cystal clear radio here

the keyboard does have a more tactile feel but I can't say I had noticed the noise excessively until you mentioned it

I just put my old SIM in. No problem. Dont think much of the instruction manual. Nothing about code locks. No explanation of screen icons.

i just experienced this radio issue. its a definite background noise that is unrelated to the station selected and sounds almost like the interference you hear when a mobile phone is placed near a radio.

I found that turning the radio off and on got me back the crystal clear reception but not before getting a loud noise in the ear as the radio turned off, so watch out for that.

all seems well now though

Any of you find the ear piece sound a bit muted or as though there is a solid cover between the ear piece and the ear?

Well i managed to get my phone replaced this lunchtime and the new phone does not suffer from that strange radio problem

The keys are still very tactile, so that's just how they are, though i did prefer the keys on the k750.

I do seem to have a bit of stray light coming from the bottom keys and casing in each corner, and in between a couple of keys when it's lit up, don't remember seeing this on the first phone, funny how they vary slightly from phone to phone.

The funny this is my first phone had 64mb of memory, this new one has 70mb

How weird, both from the same 02 shop with different memory capacity

See how this one goes now ?

ok an update now, this phone also does have the radio problem, but not as bad as the first one ?

Bloody strange this, the first phone did it pretty much all the time, regardless of signal strengh, but this one only seems to do it on a weak signal, ie lot of noise in the background.

I was just listening to capital radio and held up the headset lead, the signal was noisey and it was doing it for ages !! high frequency bip bip bip bip etc.

So at least its better than the first one, but it still does it, maybe its specific to 02 firmware ?

Oh what to do now ?

I didn't experience the problem again on my trip home tonight so perhaps there is some event that causes it to start and it won't stop until you turn the radio off and on

Maybe it your phone polling for a transmitter your hearing? Stick your phone in front of a monitor and phone it, or stick it next to speaker and phone it, gives the same effect... you'll get some wicked interference! Actually try it next to an ipod, now that is cool, screen goes nuts and volume goes up and down.

I have this same problem, very anoying. I thought it might have somthing to do with the 3g so turned that off but it's still there and pretty much all the time, no matter what station I have on it. Luckily it is quiet, but still. I thinking it's just a bug, and will get fixed in a firmware update.

Oh well i gave up with having two phones doing it, so i returned it to the shop and cancelled the contract. I took out a new contract by mistake anyway as i did'nt realise my existing contract was up for renewal, silly me.

Back to my K750 now which does all i want and more, it was good to try the k800 out anyway

although I did experience it twice on the O2 K800 that my son now has, I have not experienced this all week on my generic version and I''ve been using it both directions on the train to/from work and also at lunch times walking around town

still, if you're happy with your K750 then I guess you can look around for something else for your upgrade

Does anyone else find that menu speed has a small bit of lag on it the odd time? If not, what theme are you using?
