it brings up the planet animation but it doesn't animate and just hangs there....is there any way to reset everything if the phone won't turn on? |

virex... welcome to Esato.
Try removing your battery while the phone is in the hanged (on) state. Also make sure any devices within range of your phone are turned off before you turn your phone back on.

You could try leaving it on for a while but otherwise it sounds like you are going to have to visit a Service Point. If you are in the US you'll have to visit your network operator's retail outlet.

Are you in the US? If so, who is your carrier?

If your friend bought it at T-Mobile you can bring the phone to one of their stores and they should be able to fix the problem. If not, try calling SE USA tech support. Here's the info for them:

Btw you could also try removing and replacing the SIM card, or turning it on without one. Just in case it isn't related to the background...

Hmmm, one of the reasons I wouldn't buy a phone on ebay. Was it supposed to be a "boxed item" when you got it?

You should be able to. When I sent my phone in for repair they asked when I bought it but didn't require any proof of a receipt. They did ask for the numbers on the back of my phone which were the serial number, manufactured date and esn number i believe.
I believe all their phones are covered by a 1 year warranty. I bought my phone from expansys when they only shipping from the uk and was able to send my phone to the MN SE service center. |
