Yep, Samsung have gone thin CRAZY ! They've now gone the way of LG and are renaming the X820 (that really, really thin candybar), the D900 and the D830 (a new one that I don't think we've heard of).

The X820 will now be called Samsung Ultra Edition 6.9, and the D900 will be called the Samsung Ultra Edition 12.9 to reflect the thinkness of each phone.

The new D830 is to be called Samsung Ultra Edition 9.9, and you guessed it, it'll be 9.9mm thick. I don't know what it'll be like to open it with one hand. And the other dimensions are 103mm x 54mm It's got a 2 megapixel camera, 2.3 inch QVGA display and has 80MB internal memory plus micro SD expansion.

I'm not a fan of Samsung but on looks alone this phone should knock the socks off a V3 for those amongst us who simply hate Motorola's antiquated UI.

BTW, what's the chance of this phone surviving a nine storey fall?

I'm using a Samsung SGH-X820 and I like the UI and the weight. It makes my K800i like a brick phone now, about 3 times thicker compared to SGH-X820 .

For the SGH-X820, normal usage, battery last for about 3days. More calls & SMS can be around 2 days. It will surely be more than a day unlike K800i that I need to charge in the evening everyday.
