I just got myself a w810i on eBay for £178 and will receive it tomorrow but I have a few questions I need to ask about the phone and the phones actual battery life when used as an mp3 player and when just used as a phone,
1). When it is used as an mp3 player does this work like talk time meaning the battery will last around 8 hours?
2). When the phone is in standby does it live up to the 350 hours they say it will?
3). Charge time, is it 2 hours or 4 because ive been told both?
4). The squeaky keys problem….. does it fade with time like I have read else where?
Well that’s all I need to know

Hey,
I just had this handset for a day. I don't have that many complaints with the handset, and a few minor things, but i can live with it. The answers to your questions:
1) When used as an mp3 player, it prolly uses a little less power than talk time, not tried it myself, but don't expect it to, u can always switch it to flight mode which turns off all phone features and use it as mp3 player which boosts battery life (apparently upto 30hrs, doubt it tbh).
2) Standby time is always reported to be around the 300-400 hrs these days, but once again i doubt it'll reach anywhere near to that like with other phones, lots of factors affecting battery life, like age of battery, what condition the battery has been in, and what settings are used while phone is turned on, such as full or low brightness etc. Turn everything on full whack and its highly unlikely to hit 350hrs standby time.
3) Reported charge time is about 2.5hrs according to manual, but i'm not gonna sit there and time it.
4) I haven't got any squeeky keys on my new handset.
All i can say is that this handset is pretty damn good, i highly recommend it!!!

@KinnyFaifai
Thanks for that some very useful info – I hope I’ve made a good choice with this handset because I’m a SE virgin and first impressions matter
@scapevlocity
no offence but i wont post the sellers ID until i have the phone because I’ve lost items on eBay by having people contact the seller and offer more after the auction had ended, but if you search on eBay you will notice that most are going for about £190-£230 so you could still pick one up cheapish, although a lot of people will frown upon using eBay because not every one who uses it is genuine and there are a lot of scams and cons on it

none taken, i totally understand. for some reason i had thought it was from some sort of eBay store, not an individual seller. congratulations on the good find, though! |

it was quite lucky if i must say so, they had missed a space out between sealed and sony making it not show up with common search criteria also they had put w810 not w810i like most others so again it didn’t get as much attention as it should of, i will keep my eye out for others going cheapish though and if i find any i will pm/post about them on here
