Hi guys!

So, I've had this W810i for a day now ... had nokia N70 for the past 4 month after my good old K750i. Anyway, I love the W810i - it's great to finally be back at S//E W810i was just meant as a "launchpad" for me, until K800 is available.

HOWEVER - now it seems that there's no standby clock at W810i, and I taken it's going to be the same problem with K790/K800 when they are out?

Is anybody else unsatisfied with missing the standby clock? Speak up please, and lets hope S//E notices this thread and add the possibility to choose whether or not you want standby clock, in future firmwars. (Or maybe a davinci update can do something?).

For me, personally, I really miss that I can just glance at the display to see the time, see if there's unread msg's or missed calls. Now, I have to reach out and hith the Walkman or volume buttons, for the display to light up

is there any logic behind that decision? many of us was so happy, when sE made it possible to see missed messages and calls even at the screensaver and now sE just took it away? or is it maybe the usually sE solution, when they say: oh, dont worry, u ll get it with the next upgrade.

hopefully its the last one, and they just wanted to launch it asap and as usually, the fw wasnt that much ready, to manage this really simple feature in it...

@Bobafett,

I believe one of the reasons for it, could have something to do with battery savings. But I'm not sure.

I really hope it gets back - or at least an option, so we can select if we want it or not.

@alexho,

That doesn't help much , sorry

It's the sleep mode clock that I (and probably lots of others?) are missing.

Just like on K750 etc. A clock, that is always visible - so you can always view if you have missed msgs/calls.

@supra there is an option in the former models to turn off that clock, so why not to let us decide if i wanna use that feature or not. indeed, its for saving batt, but its up to me imo, not sE should decide if its good or not.

IMO Se are much like Motorola in that they mix brilliant features and totally dodo ones.. liek Motos 'copy to - Bluetooth' and SEīs persistance to calendars with recurring events and letting the user decide how many SMSīs they wan to store on the phone. Personally i couldnīt care less about the latter, but i have long since lost count of all whine threads about it.
I mean, how hard can it be to implement basic things like standby clock, icons that show missed events on standby (my V3i beeps when thereīs missed events, brilliant feature IMO) and a less rudimentary calendar app?!

Oh no! Thats a deal breaker for me. I love the look of the w810, but i cant live without the standby clock. What a massive lack of insight. You think they'd use the standby screen features more so in a walkman phone to display the current playing song, etc. I might have to get the ugly k750!
