When the phone goes in to standbye the screen goes blank...just push the play button on the side and the time comes up.

Nice feature, does it not stay on all the time?

Guessed it must have had this facility somehow or other. I would prefer to have the ability to be able to select it to be on all the time, or activated by a side button press.

Minor niggle. But if the screen is blank I would always be bringing the phone out of standby to check whether it is switched on or not!

Concidering the stanby clock, as mentioned above pressiing the volume buttons or the Walkman button will bring the clock up for approc 20 sec or so before the display goes off again (picture by phhaattyy at howardsforum).

Well, what do you mean standby clock? When you press the volume button on the K750i or W800 the time comes up..

Exactly what I said. Not exactly what you concider a "standby clock" perhaps, but it is a clock and its easely accessed.

Don't you have the Sleep Mode Clock function like the K750i? With this activated, the clock is permanently displayed on the standby screen.

Andymac is right. My old 750i had a clock sleep mode that could be turned on and off. This feature doesn't seem to be on the 810i. Or have I missed something?

listen to this.
today i had a customer coming into my store with a faulty old scholl nokia black and white phone and it was all busted and wasnt working, so he wanted to upgraded his contract and get a new phone so i recommended him the nokia 6230 and w810i, asked me whats good about them both etc etc, i spend nearly 1 hour telling him (he was a complete phone noob) at the end he decided to get the w810 cos of the battery life over the 6230, we do the paper work, turns the new w810i phone on, he has no idea what and where the buttons do or functions, so spent another 20 minutes going thru it, he walks out kinder confused with the phone and wasnt happy with the standby screen. 5 minutes later comes back into the store ask, "whats emergency calls only ?" i said theres no reciption in the under ground car park.! he walks out again feeling abit stupid. 20 minutes later comes back in complains about the phone with its standyby screen,( blank screen) , i explain its just the phones functions to save battery power etc, so he saids well how do i know its on?" so his like i wanna swap it for the 6230i! im thinking oh my f*k*n god" so i swaped it over and he was been so rude about even when im taking back the phone with seal broken and all, he didnt thank me for it and asked for a free leather case too..lol i hope the 6230i stuffs up on him...
