seems that hutch's exhorbitant gprs rates are finally being slashed down massively on basic gprs there is now a value packet giving 5mb free+ 30 free mms (still not good enough) but advanced gprs cost has really been hacked down to match airtels MO .
new charge for advanced gprs is 5p/10kb SERIOUSLY better than 50p/10kb plus there is a new offer of rs699 for a 1GB package. this also applies to their hutchmail push email service. finally we can get some releif from heavy bills. will anyone sign up for advanced gprs after this?

Im using airtel mo for over a year now and im still charged a flat 199 rs per month on account of my being what airtel calls an "old" customer. I guess orange needs to take some tips from airtel on how to retain customers.

i'm from WB. here airtel now charges Rs.249/m(unlimited) from 2005 Feb. before then it was Rs.99 only. they increase charges more than double. if they again increases charges, then i have to think about BSNL which unlimited is 349(tooo costly). and i heard that hutch and reliance unlimited net is also tooo costly. you guys know the current unlimited rates and speeds of reliance ,hutch and tata? airtel's speed is slow, whereas i have a EDGE phone. it's rarely go to 9KB/s in night or very morning when i download something with DA.

but still Airtel is the SUCCESSOR! I am currently using airtel prepaid connection myself and have activated airtel online. its damn better than hutch gprs.
and the rent of 99 bucks is also acceptable. and no download charges.

Er..did someone say major downloads? My data transfer easily exceeds 1gb on my airtel gprs...all for 150 bucks a month. i guess the airtel tower near my home is bent towards my house.. hope it doesn't break...

600bucks!!!
Man... that hurts seriously. Ur neighbours here at Kerala enjoys MO at 250rp/month, which is reasonable, considerin the unlimited download. Wats Airtel doin ovr there? Makin fun of u guys?
U guys shud seriously consider writing to the AirTel's Nodal Officer in ur region nd to the AirTel heads...
Also if u hav Airtel Live! facility try dat cheat mentioned in the 'Free GPRS forum'
