Try leaving the battery out of it for 10 minutes. It sometimes helps.

if u bought the fone in the philippines, your warranty is valid there. here is also an austrlaian thread in the regional forum, might be some members ould help u over there, if it is. hard to say what could be the problem, the best is to check it by experts.

It sounds like the White Screen Of Death. It's not actually that bad, your phone isn't dead, it just appears that way. Switch it on and all you see is a white screen.

Here's the 3 options so far as i know:

1. If your battery was fairly well charged (70% or more) when it started whitescreening, you could try leaving it switched on for 30 mins to an hour (but no longer), and it may fix itself. If your battery was low when it happened, then for gods sake take the battery out now and move straight to option 2, do not run your battery flat. While your phone is whitescreening, it cannot charge itself with the mains adaptor beyond ~15%.

2. flashing the firmware fixes the whitescreen crash. You need more than 15% battery power to successfully flash the phone. I'd guess at 30-40% charged at least. SEUS won't let you flash a whitescreened w900i, because it sees a working firmware on the phone already. You need to use Davinci or TotalMultiServer. Guide for fixing whitescreened w900i with TMS here:

3. Take it back to where you bought it, or use the SonyEricsson warranty.

You can download it for free, but you need to buy a 'flashing credit' for it online, with a credit/debit card. credits are like US$15.

You can use either davinci or totalmultiserver, but i used totalmultiserver to fix my w900i, so that's what the guide thing is written for. You need to buy credits for davinci too, but i've never really used it.

Download totalmulti and find links for where to buy credits for it here -

http://www.totalmultiserver.com/

Edit:

i just checked their site, and the credits are hidden on the "order login" link on their menu, which points here:

http://www.totalmultiserver.com/order.htm

sometimes it'll fix itself if you can leave it on long enough, but it's not very likely.

So, whether you can reliably fix it without flashing it, in a word... No.

Best bet: take it to SE, they will flash it, and, if you dont have a warranty, they will charge you for it.
