After adding a reply in a thread, why does the option to view your message take you back to the very start of that thread?

I'd much prefer it if it took you to the end of the thread, so that you could actually "view your message".

(PS. I'd be very surprised if this hadn't been mentioned before, but couldn't find anything with a (rudimentary) search)....

afaik its the same on wap and html... It takes you to the start of the thread rather than at the end...after you post a reply.

You're just as quick as clicking on "back to forum topic list " then clicking on the last page of the topic in the list, either way its still 2 clicks. It would be a good if the "view message" option actually took you to your message.

Yes, I agree! Would somebody from the mods elaborate as to why this is so?

well for one, to make sure your hyperlinks, images and text formatting came out as expected. for another, to read it over one more time to be sure your post makes sense and has correct spelling/grammar.

This has already been discussed a long time ago.

The suggestion by that time was to choose in your preferences to sort the topics Descending as opposed to Ascending (default).

Well waddayaknow - it was discussed!... and never resolved.

The problems people had had with My Posts and searching were fixed, but not the (seemingly popular) idea to go to the end of a thread after posting.

Changing the thread order in my preferences would be worse - having to scroll down to the last post I'd read, then read backwords to the start of the end!

But hey, if it ain't gonna be changed, it's not the end of the world.

I am in favour of a review of that link as well for reasons already tendered by gelfen. It would make enough of a difference for those of us paying heavy GPRS charges but are addicted to posting on Esato.

And... ahem... seeing that the issue on ground is yet to be addressed, there can't be a chance that bookmarked topic links could also be modified to lead to the newest post in the thread rather than the first; can there? Obviously, one has to have read at least the first post before bookmarking a topic. Me, when I click on a bookmark link, going straight to the last post would be more expedient than going to the first
