W800 Mem card |

hi guys,
hope you can help, I am on my 3rd w800 now, but not having much time to investigate, i have come to the conclusion its the 512 sd card at fault. my current w800 works fine with no SD card in the phone, but if i put it in the phone locks and i cant use it. I have tried formatting the card with my pc, but it doesnt even show as a romovable drive. I am pretty sure this has happened on my last two phones i have sent back.
any ideas? any known problems with the mem card in these phones? | |

I have never heard of this fault with the W800i before.
I presume that you mean a Memory Stick Duo as the W800i cant take SD cards. |

yeah i mean that, sorry.
are the cards set up sepcifically? or can i just go out and buy a replacement card?

Any Memory Stick Duo should just plug into the phone and work.

Have you formatted the card, as if there is an error on the card it will cause the phone to crash and restart.

I am having the same problem, and to me it seems that it is an issue with the cards, and not the phones. I have just got a brand new sim free P910i, and tried my unused 512mb card that came with my second W800i. I am using the 512mb card that came with my PSP with no problems in my W800i, R1N035 version, but put the one that came with it in my P910i, and remember this has never been used before, and it crashed the phone after some items were added to it. Tried the same items on a 64mb card and no problems at all. Seems to me that this is a card issue, and not a phone one, as all problems with cards on here seem to be with the 512mb ones, that come with W800i's.
