Stephen King has a new book out called "CELL" The story is about a strange pulse that comes through when you answer the call,that then turns you into murderer or makes you commit a terrorist act ect...
“What happens on the afternoon of October 1 came to be known
as the Pulse, a signal sent through every operating cell phone
that turns its user into something...well, something less than human”

Sometimes the movies are never as good as the books but i know what you mean...
I remember that other film about mobiles aswell called CELLULAR which was'nt very good.But this being a Stephen King book i have high hopes for this as im a big fan of his stuff.

Yes i think your talking about THE CELL with jennifer lopez....
Besides this Novel is just called CELL and is about Cellphones...and at this stage no idea if movie will be made about it?

Well it looks like the Cell will be made into a big budget movie,it was kind of enevitable really since most of stephen Kings novels have taken the Movie or TV route.
According to Variety
Dimension Films has acquired rights to Stephen King's latest novel \"Cell\" and has set \"Hostel\" helmer Eli Roth to direct it.
