@lu - If it is . . . then we can say too that King Arthur and Helen of Troy (inspired by Homer's - Iliad) . . . WAS Alexander the Great surely is . . . which according to scholars, was the greatest of them! Had he lived longer . . . the 'fate' of America would NOT be what it IS now . . . [addsig]

@jbm - I guess Lusavnro was pertaining to the story of the movie - Gladiator per se, where the King was killed by his own son and fell in love with his own sister and planned to kill the TOP general (Russell Crowe) as he knew his father has plans of putting Crowe in his (king) position when he dies . . . etc. It's really a nice movie, though it was OUTBESTED by Denzel Washington's - Training Day in the Oscar's (Movie of the Year)! I would say it fiction, but using actual events and people from history with a generous dose of artistic licence. And some inspiration from Ben-Hur / The Ten Commandments / Greatest Story Ever Told.

@car - I think the 3 movies you've mentioned were - TRUE ! Had it NOT been, then there's just NO reason to believe the Bible after all Just like with that of: The Passion of the Christ ! [addsig]

Gladiator is best described as a fictional story set in a historically accurate setting and based on real people and events.

@gelfen - I stand corrected matey . . . I am NOT that certain with my last post that's why I posted the smiley " " after Denzel Washington's name. I am a bit confused about the year though, as I 'KNOW' that one of Russell Crowe's BEST movie to date was outbested by Denzel's . . . which I think is a 'crap' flick (Training Day) . . . and that was the movie - A Beautiful Mind, and the year was 2001 and NOT 2K ! Sorry for that . . . [addsig]
