however, if you do happen to have a phone with an older style connector to charge from then you can certainly pair the newer phones and drive the car.
I've done this successfuly with my K750

yeh thats one thing I have done with my car-100, charge it from my old K700i then pair & play with it from my K750i.
it suprised me when I originally bought my car-100 why you charged it from the phones battery not from a mains/car charger, still suppose it means you don't need to carry a big charger round (just make sure your phones got a full battery, because charging the car and then using bluetooth to operate it sure does drain the battery quick!)
have fun with it when it arrives

now that I think about it, its all a bit pointless really. If I bother to charge from an old phone then why don't I drive from that phone? hmmm...
I do also wonder why never provided an adaptor to convert the new connector to the old style so older accessories could be used still. perhaps the change was just too much to allow such a possibility... or has someone seen a third party solution?

yeh the whole connector business has cost me a fortune i had to go out and buy;
- a new in-car charger especially for my K750i,
- then there was the new desk stand,
- also the hpm-70 so i could use my own headphones
- wonder what else i shall need to buy!
but a third party connector is an idea i had a while ago, but after many long nights searching for one i never did manage to come across one..
we can always dream can't we! its like my bluetooth headset, the hbh-660 - means i have to have two in-car chargers, aaarrrgghhhhh the wires everywhere in my nice new car

Me too, I had my full car kit fitted 6 months ago, it was supposed to fit every ericsson/sony ericsson mobile from the T28 onwards, it worked brilliantly for my K700i and my P910i but then I got my K750i and I was gutted! I rang SE and they told me I just had to change the cradle, but now they're telling a different story, I have to get a full kit again! It cost me €279 so I suppose its gonna cost me another €279 for a Bluetooth one !

I used to have car kits but with the frequency I change phones they got out of date very quickly so I've learned to use bluetooth car kits which also have the added advantage of being portable
currently I'm using the parrot easydrive. excellent unit!

i could never use one of those, purely because they seem more trouble than they're worth (and they also look appaling)
thinking i'll just stick to my HBH-660 bluetooth headset when I'm driving instead of all the previous built-in handsfree kits I've used

My Car 100 works fine with the K750. For a charging station I use an old T100 (that doesn't work but still powers up and can be recharged) and can charge the car 100 fine:
My Car-100 has been heavily modded (you can check it out in this thread if ur interested in the technical details http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=94140&start=0 )
