After going mad 4 the k-jam. I just got myself a 9100 saving 60.00gbp . So i just want to know what differences there are between them. I know the hardware is the same but is there software differences. Any info would be much appreciated? Thanks in advance

until someone with specific experience of both devices comes along, when you are online next, you might want to compare what you have in the QTEK compared with the details of the k-jam that I have given in my "A couple of my mates. Meet JasJar and K-Jam (many pics)" thread
I'd be interested to hear any difference you see

good! I didn't go to the depth I wanted to as it already took quite alot of time to prepare that, but hopefully its enough for you to make a comparison.
I guess I could have gone with qtek with my original JAM but since expeansys made the JAM available before the equivalent QTEK I went with i-mateand thus I am continuining with i-mate now. I have also heard that QTEK support is no where near as good as i-mate support who have live online support as well as fairly fast email replies etc (in my personal experience)

Whats a good price to pay for one then? How about a price range or link: eg: £350-400 (New of course )?
Thinking of splahing out the cash for one of these, and getting an 8800 on upgrade next month
Also, any idea whether o2 will get the k-jam? |

if you can get the k-jam for £350-400 then you are doing well
O2 do have the wizard named as XDA mini PRO according to the HTC chart showing all existing and upcoming devices but I suspect they may bypass that for the upcoming XDA atom

There are "i-mode exclusive to o2" posters all over the place in central scotland so i would think o2 would get k-jam. And i was hunting all day 4 deals online. Cheapest k-jam was £440 and qtek was £400. I also jst lost out on ebay 4 k-jam my max bid 384 and it went 4 394 i was gutted. X

Sorry i know this is not the right thread, though it concerns my I-mate....
Anyway, quick question:
I've just bought a 512mb mini SD, and it came witht the standard size SD adapter; i want to know two things please:
1: switching the white switch on the adapter FORWARD (towards the gold chip end) enables write or protects it? The problem is that i cant forward files to it, as my PC tells me its write-protected....
2. If as its says it is write-protected, where is the option to disable it? I've tried everything (going through properties, switching it UP and down - inserting it, and even trying to format it again - cant do this as it says its write protected!).
I have one of those USB SD/MMC adapters, which says it can read and write....
P.S: i cant connect via active sync, my laptop cant detect my phones (searching ports process)??? Even though i can send and receive files via BT.... Need to send some music files over....
Help on the mini SD card or active sync is appreciated, if anyone can help
EDIT: its cool, i've managed to fix the SD problem.... think i should read the huge manual for advice on active sync.....

I have had some problems with my Qtek 9100.
Programs use way to much memory, so it stalls or hangs for a few minutes before I can dump the memory or sometimes just to restart it.
Today I read a book in Microsoft Reader, when I read from my 1GB miniSD I suddenly got an error saying MS reader couldnt access the book anymore. I copied it to the internal memory and then it worked fine.
After I had dumped the memory, I started reading again. Turned off the app. started Media Player 10 listened for 1-2 hours, then switched to MS reader. Then the phone stalled for a few mins before I was able to really close WMP10 and ms reader.
I had to restart the phone to actually start reading again.
Mobipocket is extremly slow when it comes to turning pages and it never ever saves bookmarks. Love this app. on my P800, so I really want it.
Tiny eReader is the wrong screen size, so I never see the bottom of txt files and I don't see the page number "bar" thingy.
I believe that most of these problems will dissapear when the programmers actually program for Windows Mobile 5, so far I have trial and error Windows Mobile 2003 apps. which crashes a lot or just wont start and then complains that I need a WM 2003 pocketpc to run this app.
Are there updates and bugfixes for windows mobiles? Like if IE in WM5 has some bugs that could ruin the phone if I visit a wrong site?

I really havent noticed any problem with my K-Jam (as yet ). It sync's beautifully with my windows XP MCE PC. I'm using Activesync 4.1 and Windows Mobile Version 5.0 OS 5.1.70 (build 14402.1.1.0)
ROM version 1.1.9.3
ROM Date 16th September 2005 (9/16)
Radio Version 01.01.10
Protocol version 4.0.13.16
ExtRom version 1.1.9.104
Whats yours?
I haven't noticed any slowups (In a reasonable sense) I upgraded from the 64Mb version of the JAM, but then again, I only use IE, Word/Excel along with the PIM's and WM10 for a bit of music. The Activesync 4.0 had some trouble syncronising with Outlook 2003 (Hence the reason why 2003 was not shipped with the CD, instead 2002 was shipped), but that was fixed. Even WM syncs with my Library on my PC flawlessly. I use Handmark's monopoly, which while installing said that was not compatable with my OS, but it installed anyway and runs OK. I was not able to install Pocket Plus, because I was using V2, I emailed SPB, and they said v3.1 is the latest, I can buy that at a special upgrade price and it will work with WM5. I decided to drop it, Don't really need it.

Debu - I guess Spb pocket Plus is a great app, a must have for pocket PC users...
I am using ActiveSync 4. I still face problems conneting to my pc via BT (sometimes). USB works just fine and gives a great data transfer speed (up to 22 mb per min )
BTW how is your K-Jam? How much did you got it for?

I haven't made ActiveSynch work with Office XP, so I tried to uninstall Office XP outlook version and installed the one from the cd. Still same problem about not being able to synch.
I first synched my P800 before synching my Qtek 9100. This could be a problem, but I have no idea how I empty my Outlook profile. It was still intact after uninstall/install.
ROM-version: 1.3.7.13 SVE
ROM-date: 9/29/05
Radioversion: 01.04.10
Protocolversion: 4.0.13.17
ExtROM-version: 1.3.7.113
Love the phone, just want it to work better regarding software issues. =)
