Hi,

I did a search and couldn't find any thread on this, but excuse me if it has been asked...

Anyways.. my dad recently went to America for a business trip and i was wondering if i could get an unbranded and unlocked version of the K750i over there, and if it would work here in Australia with my Optus sim card..?

I don't want a optus branded one because I heard it doesn't take it to the latest firmware..(R1N?) or am i missing something..

thanks!

i believe you could do that but SE Australia will not honuor the warranty of the US-bought handset.

Hmm.. but you're saying it WILL work tho, right?

As for warranty, I do usually take care of my property, so yeah..

You can get unlocked, unbranded K750is in Australia too although they might be slightly more expensive.

@chris_c28

Since you live in Sydney, do you know of any places that sell unbranded, unlocked K750i's? I don't want to buy this particular mobile online..

you could try these guys: Organiser World

they are in melbourne but they have a fax order form you can download (available here) so you don't have to order online. in addition they have a physical address for retail sales located in the city, and they usually have among the best outright prices.

if you're adamant about sydney you could try Frequency Communications in Rushcutters Bay

Thanks for the link.

I'll probably try to buy it at the Frequency Communications Store in Sydney.

Or try the Sony Central store @ World Square. They have a lot of K750i in stock. You can get unbranded K750i's quite easily, just don't go to those Optus World or Voda stores.

lol yeah, if I didn't find one, I was gonna go buy one at Optus World. How stupid of me.
Well anyways, I didn't know there was a Sony Central store at World Square. Thanks for that.
