you might remember the World's First bluetooth Phone Glove!, well now there is the something new...

Presenting the Finger Fone (The Ring Phone)

No, no its nothing vulgar. Come on people stop associating the finger with the only thought that comes to mind. The Finger Phone is in fact cutting edge technology. It is a small bluetooth headset that you can wear like a ring. It remains connected to your cell phone through bluetooth, hence the maximum range is of course 10 metres. Its benefit over a normal bluetooth handsfree device is that this little gadget can be used in a huge crowd to hold a conversation without having any trouble listening to the person at the opposite end. This is possible due to the bone conduction technology that the ring phone uses.
The user is expected to wear the ring on his index finger and then insert it into his ear when he wishes to talk. The "electromotive speaker" transmits vibrations through the finger which are in some manner used by the bone of the ear (I guess that means the ear curtain) to make sense. Anyway the main objective is that it registers the sound clearly and perfectly within the ear without any interference from outside. Similarly you need not scream your voice hoarse if there is too much background noise. Speak softly, the device picks up the vibrations made and the result is a crystal clear conversation. It means you can hold a private conversation without fear of being overheard. An added positive point is that it is really unpleasant to wear the bluetooth headphones all the time. eaven knows how many studies keep showing us how bacteria multiply when the ears are kept covered by ear phones. The ring phone is a nice alternate to these.

The ring phone also makes use of the "Ubi button" technology. Since it is on the finger, it would be difficult to press any button on the device without using the other hand. In order to make it easy to use, the device makes use of the Ubi button. This technology allows movements of the finger to command that particular device. It is sensitive enough to recognise the difference when the whole arm is being used for some work and when that single finger tap has been made to answer or dial a call. The Ubi button is also used in digital watches in Japan. Through different motion patterns, the device can be given almost 30 commands to recognise.

The ring phone itself is of the size of a tiny egg and weighs just 30 grams, that is comfortable enough to carry around.

One other benefit would be being able to avoid the "Space Cadet Syndrome" Dunno if it's only me but some BT headsets look just plain garish, much the same as Sulu on Star Trekā„¢ :-)

personally i think it defeats the object of a bluetooth headset...you have to hold your hand to your ear therefore it is not handsFREE, you mite aswell jus hold your phone to your ear!
