hey,

may have asked this question before, but is it worth getting the firmware updated on my v600i? - if i do i'll take it into vodafone shop...it's free then, isn't it? - i don't really trust SEUS from what i've heard about it...and i'm not paying for davinci, because i really don't want to loose my warranty (void it). also, when you update to the latest firmware (what is it for the v600i???) - does it stop you from installing games (java unsigned apps) - heard this from someone...but not sure whether to believe or not.

thankeez

Just checked at a 3 store, the K608 still has R2L002 firmware, the same as my 11 month old phone.

I think networks must have to pay for branded firmware updates, so when SEUS says there are no updates for my phone it's correct loosely speaking.

I need your help guys...
I just bought a second-hand K600i (my previous one was sold due to some reasons but I still need K600i so I bought a "new" one).
This is firmware info of this one:
R2G001
prgCXC 1250079_CHINA-MI R2G001
Camera SW versions
Camera
Current: 2.9
Video call camera
Current: 4.7
ITP SW version
Customization
CDA 102375/101 R1A
cxc 1250017 R2G002 APAC_1
Content version
PA16

This is K600 Generic Indonesia, right?
I also know that the firmware is not the latest, because :
- Contacts multiple character search is not working
- Camera version and video call camera version is not the latest.

I tried to update the firmware via SEUS using mini-usb cable. Everything seems to be fine until the firmware checking process by SEUS.
The problem is: SEUS told me that there is no update available, it says that my phone already has the latest firmware...! How come?

This R2G001 firmware sounds strange to be because my previous (sold) one has R2T before I updated it to R2B.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, trying to help---may be your K600i has been flashed by 'cracked' 3rd party firmware flasher like Cruiser or SE-tool when it had troubles in the past. My mate's K750i was rejected by SEUS as it had Cruiser f/w in it. It might be also a brown phone only as a prototype or it used to be an operator-locked, and then was unlocked somehow by these 'unofficial' tools. Or it was unsuccessfully updated in the past, say, failed in the middle of action. Correct me if I'm wrong. However, looking at the f/w details you posted, all seems normal. The CDA 101 is Indonesian I believe. I don't have a K600i, so this is just a raw opinion. Anyway, when SEUS said so, was there the' Continue Anyway' button? If NOT, your phone--sorry to say-- was rejected. Try to update also by SE-tool or Cruiser to the latest one. Or visit SESC. Or do a master reset and re-try SEUS. This 'cracked' flashing is common in Malang-so, maybe Jakarta is too? Good luck, bro..

Hi. Thanks for the response.
Looking at how the phone I bought (the previous user did not master reset the phone since the data still there, i.e., Contacts, Messages, Pictures, etc.) I don't think he would flashed the phone or something like that. It seems that he is a "normal" user, even the firmware is the very old one, why and what for he flashed the firmware to the old one?
Regarding the "Continue Anyway" button, I can't find that. Why?
Thanks.

Is that for video call or Mobile TV that you re-buy K600i, bro? So sad that no 3G as of now here in Malang..The only thing to do is ask SESC to update yours. Good luck and Happy Lebaran day!
