Yeah, sorry mate. Should of said that the problem was with the headset & handsfree profiles. I've updated the original posting.

its not just with headset,,tried transfering files from my k750i to a nokia 6681 via bluetooth it just keeps on blingking until it crash 2x.but when i recieve files from the nokia 6681 to k750i it works fine.. then when i tried to transfer files from the k750i to the nokia 7610 or a lower variant it works fine it could also recieve files from the lower variant units of nokia that has bluetooth ..very weird phone k750i is... |

... Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the new K608i (for t mobile) has the same CRAP non back compatible, all singing, all dancing - useless Bluetooth that the K750 D750 has?

But when? its soooo annoying not being able to use products such as tomtom, and other makes of GOOD headsets just because they are an older type of bluetooth......... Jeeees !

I have a trustworthy Motorola HS810 BT 1.1 headset and it performs flawlessly with my k720i, muich better than it did on my k700 which kept losing connection or did not want to connect at all...
What are the advantages of BT 1.2 over 1.1? And those of BT 2.0 ? Intersting to buy a BT 2.0 or 1.2 dongle to use with k750?

I can confirm that the new firmware R1N035 does NOT fix the disconnection issue.
However, pressing the button on the headsets I've got (HBH-662 and HBH-660) now re-connects the headset to the phone - which is a start.
There is another firmware coming soon (!) that seems to fix the issue. We've tested firmware T1Q065 that has maintained a connection to various data links/headsets for upto 7 days without disconnection. Unfortunately I don't know when its going to be released.

Hi all,
Yes I am having the same problem. I have a SE W800i with T-mobile in the USA, along with a TomTom Go 700.
They pair without problems.
I can dial a phone number from the TomTom without problems.
I can download the phone book into my TomTom without problems.
HOWEVER...
After establishing a call, I cannot get any audio on the TomTom, nor can they hear me.
With the W800i, once in a call you can hit the "More" option button, and then select "Transfer sound" option to send audio to the TomTom. However, even after doing this I get absolutely no sound. Worse, after selecting "Transfer Sound" the w800i is unable to re-establish a link with the TomTom ... not sure if the problem is with SE or TomTom.
I did find the email address of the TomTom USA President: Jocelyn.Vigreux@tomtom.com
I suggest we all email him and ask for help in resolving this issue, as TomTom support has never gotten back to me!
Here was what Sony-Ericsson has to say. Looks like the W800i support BT2 and maybe that's why we are having compatibility issues:

Bluetooth coding within each Bluetooth stack is different between devices and manufactures. Because of these differences, not all Bluetooth devices are compatible to connect to any other device using Bluetooth. The engineers in Amsterdam have tested this devices and it is not compatible. There are no specifics as to why. If you want a phone that is compatible, please stick to the compatibility list here: http://www.tomtom.com/product[....]?ID=77&Section=107&Language=4. These are phones that are compatible and can support if you were to run into any configuration problems. If you have any further questions, please contact us.

I have been following this thread with interest as it seems that the problems I have are relate. I have a Holden commodore (Australian model) with a factory fitted Bluetooth kit. This kit has worked without problem with my old T610 and my wife¡¦s K700.
The kit itself is 1.1 compliant. I have been unable to get it to work properly with my K750i. Initiating a call from the car kit registers the with the phone but quickly loses its connection.
Anyway here is what I received from SE about 1.1 compliance¡K
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Center. The K750i has Bluetooth 1.2 and meets Bluetooth 2.0 specification. The K750i may work with third party Bluetooth hardware using Bluetooth 1.1 but Sony Ericsson can't guarantee that it will function to it's full extent. Please contact the third party vendor regarding this issue. Currently K750i is compatible with very limited hardware, not all Sony Ericsson Bluetooth hardware is compatible with it unless explicitly specified.

It looks like my only option here is swap it for its poorer cousin the Nokia 3230. Too bad I sold my iPod in favour of the K750 ƒ¼ should have made sure everything was ok 1st.
I'm really hoping someone here more informed than me can set me right. As its a cool phone but useless to me without the car kit.

Seems to me.. only way I can see to fix this .. is to make the K750i and D750i Bluetooth 1.1 compatible.. god knows how !
