has gone nuts for the past few days..the down button doesnt work properly..when i press down it works as the centre click.. so i have to use the up button till it reaches the desired point..even my frind has the same problem, though it works much better than mine...is this a common problem??

@mobikid - The down joystick direction malfunction is a firmware problem I believe. Try it: In the service menu, it works. Then when you get back to standby and the other menus, it doesn't work. Clearly not a mechanical/dirt problem.

I found a simple solution to this: Change themes. Sometimes the first one or two themes won't do the trick but eventually you'll find one that will restore the downward function. Turning the K700i off after each theme change seems to yield faster results.

If my suggested solution doesn't work, try a firmware upgrade and get a general cleaning just to make sure. But this trick works for me everytime. (My fw version is R2L001.)

It was free as it was still under warranty at the time.
Haven't had a problem since the service.
