seriously, guys... i don't think anyone would expect additional official info/firmware updates from a discontinued phone. time to move on...

RIP K850... long live C905!

We could still discuss, or ask questions to k850 owners. I own a C905 now but I still come back and read about K850 topics, like my old K850 more actually..

yeah, i know it's still featured in various websites. but try visiting 's official e-shop here: http://www.se-store.co.uk/

notice anything missing among the phones listed up for sale?

what's even surprised me more is that the K800 & K510's still very much available. and both of them are much "older" models.

so if the K850's not there... go figure.

discontinued? na-ah

the k850 is just a victim of heavy scrutiny due to touchkey problems during the release of first firmwares. That's why the first impressions were not as good as when the k800 was released.

Might I ask why the negative dude?

the k850 is not that not bad. as a matter of fact i won 2nd place under the Philippines people's choice category of SE's Worldview 2008 Photo contest last month using my K850.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/w[....]GlobalWinners.aspx?cc=ph&lc=en

yipee! I won K770!

@sniper supra
i wasn't being negative, "dude". i was merely replying to coquito's question.

the k850's a very capable phone, no argument there. too bad it's also a very buggy phone. i have 3 friends who owned k850's before. two of them sold their phones, while the other one gave it to their househelp(lucky girl!). all of them had the same reasons for disposing their k850's: buggy firmware.

good for you if you were able to acquire a trouble-free unit. but may i ask why you think otherwise of my reply to coquito? you never directly answered it.

I sold my C905 today and got back to my old K850!

Just a quick question, how many text messages can I have on the K850?

It depends on the open free memory available either on phone or on the memory card.
I recently have approx. 2thousand sms's and i'm using the phone memory for Messages.
i've 20MB free on PhoneMemory and still i can have more than 7thousand messages more using PhoneMemory.
And if i select Memory Card as a default storage for messages, then it shows i may have more than 4lackhs messages. ( 1.2GB is free on my M.C.) [addsig]

Coz I still believed that the unit is still being produced so to speak, contrary to what you believe.
