A friend at work got a Z1, and i was just about to purchase one until I saw the camera quality. I mean, I'm used to 808 quality, the Z1 will be a downgrade. Thats why ended up getting the L1020.

I had enough also of Sony's insistence on using shatter proof sheets on the glass which scratch very easily. They never use oleophobic coating & if you take the shatter proof sheet off the Sony logo is baked into it Ends up a horrid looking mess. And yeah I used the Z1 in Holland got some ok photos but it's not what it could be. Samsung S4 does way better with a Sony sensor than the Sony does

I didn't know you live in Santa Cruz, awesome place I would love to visit. I have some cousins in San Diego (they are in the Army) and they keep asking me to visit them. Lets see if next year I can do some good ol' road-trippin'

For sure! Santa Cruz is an awesome.. I would love to get a beer with a fellow esato member and maybe even go for a photo shoot

San Diego is very cool as well.. I was there a few years ago and clicked these

plenty of stuff to shoot

If you end up in Cali and you have the time I strongly recommend driving from San Diego to San Francisco on Highway 1.. its probably one of the most scenic roads in the world. A lot of the pics in my gallery are from the Californian coastline, and to be honest.. you can literally point & shoot and you will get a beautiful image.

I wouldn't buy any of the Sony's. I made the bad choice of signing a Three contract deal with a Z1. Camera in my view is a blurry mess. Nowhere near as good as advertised. Also the screen is poor Nothing compared to the Nokia's

I am yet to understand where you stand in terms of what you expect from a cameraphone..

I know that for myself, anything lower than the 808 is.. well.. at this point unacceptable, so that's why I don't even bother with anything else. The 1020 is very close, but its not an overall improvement so.. I am just waiting for the next one.

I am guessing quality is not that important for you since you are avoiding the real cameraphones, and going for a compromised (small sensor) device instead..

Oh come on seriously I can't believe you just said that. Of course I want quality and for me the GALAXY S4 is a quality camera phone it takes pin sharp images. It's not the best out there but it's certainly excellent. It's not the best for night shots either but the way you speak is like if you want a decent camera you only have to buy a Nokia. That's simply isn't true. Yes the Nokia devices are excellent there's no doubt but they are not the only camera phones that can make great pictures.

So your even suggesting that to only have quality we have to have only Symbian which is dead or Windows Phone which is still not progressing enough as an OS anymore?? That all Androids are crap or useless for quality? ? I don't even wanna go down this route of conversation

Then you should get an 808 PV
just sayin'

... In all seriousness though... like I've said many times - Don't worry what other people say, buy and use what YOU like. I'm SOOO guilty of this myself, I do it all the time at work. One of my work-mates will get a new phone like the 5s or a Galaxy S4 and I'll rib them super hard about "why did they buy such a shitty camera phone" (knowing full well, its quite a capable device). It's only among friends that we feel comfortable enough to dig really deep into pixels and hardware and declare a superior device image wise.... and IMO as CU said, its the 808 most every time - you can't take that away from it.

Are you hearing yourself? I genuinely think you've lost it...

'Small sensors'... It's not a DSLR, all phones have small sensors... If the guy wants to shoot good quality photos, he'll get a proper camera...

At least he doesn't have to live with an extinct, dark age OS...

I am not ranting or angry I am just baffled why people get so personal and insult others these days over what choice of phone they have. There is more important things to worry about in life. The fact is the majority of top mobile devices can take more than capable photos. I get so tired of hearing Android or Lagdroid fan boy words. I now choose Android because of various reasons . I don't choose a mobile device only because of camera. The S4 under 4.3 is a solid lag and bug free performer and it's camera takes fantastic images. Build quality is fine too. I just don't understand this thing about Nokia being the only reason to choose a mobile device cos it has Pure view? ? It baffles me. I choose a device as it has and does all I require. People tend to spend far too much time looking for pixels out of place or a tiny little bit of blur here or there. In my personal preference I actually prefer the 1020 over the 808. I find the 808 images often soft and bland. Sorry but that's what I think it's not perfect. I don't want to use Symbian just to have a so called great camera. It often feels like to me that we are judged as a person by what phone we choose. It beyond me I am not saying any of you have insulted me though

Android now offers me, unlike others the banking apps of my 2 banks. WP just hasn't changed all that much which is why I moved away. Anyway gotta go

When I see my LG G2 is very fluid, fast, has a great screen full hd, running on a solid OS followed and updated with a nice intuitive interface with so many apps available which are well made, useful productive or fun additionally equipped with a good camera (good enough as say cu) with an optical stabilizer which is useful in a lot of cases and to top everything that has a very good battery life ...I find it hard to understand those who use it every day an old school phone because it has the "best" camera.

But maybe they see themselves as "MacGyver" of telephony

It's their choice and I respect that, we will not force them to buy a modern phone either

Oh i forgot, they all love 808 State, a band of chillout music of the early 90's

Haha i remember 808 State used to dance in the club's to that. I loved the LG G2 aswell the battery life was incredible with no lag at all on the UI. I just hated the build quality mine creaked like an old ship. Plus I decided I couldn't love with 16 gigs If the G3 is better than I'd buy it. Anyway we'll get back to topic now

Dunno, if UK banks are late, but here in the Netherlands, all major banks have an app for WP.

I really like Nokia OS/Symbian but today it's just outdated and look really lagged...
It's simply unusable as primary phone.
Our needs have changed and grown over the years...

Oh,and i still can't see any phone being better than my old DSC-TX30.
Are you nervous?

WP has the WellsFargo app here in the USA... good enough for me... and when using the 808, the mobile site looks exacly like the app.... so whats really the difference when you just place the link on you homescreen..... the answer is NONE - there is no difference IMO. [addsig]

^ Exactly.
There have never been any banking apps for Meamo5 and Meego, so when I used my N900 and N9, I've always used the mobile, or even (with the N900) the full site, no problems at all
