Intersting, let me try that, so a good solution is to press the cam button a litle harder after focus? I'm going to try and tell later... |

lol. I think you're crazy
Never in my life have I heard of a mechanism that has 3 levels, especially 1 designed to take a black picture. |

To follow up on my previous post... this problem only affects SOME K850i's:
K850i PCB reference design:
My 07W47 K850i LED control:
This is on 80% brightness, with a dark environment so no auto-LED brightening. This unevenness wasn't apparent in my old handset made in W37, not sure if this is a firmware problem since the F/W DOES control how the LED's go off and on, I think.

@vbayma I completely agree with you and thats what i have been saying.
the blackness isnt there all the time., but i can easiley get the phone to take a black pic with out any problems.
**************************************************
@obentou I have the same with the w41 on my k850, I also had some very dark shadows arround the screen.
My w47 has none of the inherent faults of my other 4 phones.
in my other 4 phones i have had
touchpad issues, keyboard issues, led lights no correct, dust under shutter, poorly shut battery compartment and so on.
Nothing is like that on my w47 phone.
However if this one goes faulty then i may get a Nokia N82

@ vortigern. R1DA is the current version and is now replacin version R1CA. (It hasnt been fully released as of yet)
I beleive that some people are havin issues with memory problems on R1DA038 so keep your eye on your phone.

@alanjrobertson I cant fault o2 in all of this, they have been very good.
The reboots are still hapening on mine, so dont worry about it. SE are aware of the fault and the next firmware should resolve most of the issues people are having.

i didnt say that is a another design. and its also strange to me. anyway its ok.
and other thing is it doesnt need to cover the whole sensor to screw up da pic. its enough small shadow of finger to make da pic black. so b careful abt ur fingers...!!!

yes its true they are controlling brightness of LED in keypad trough firmware and everyone does. and also there are some certain issues abt LEDs as well..
in ur case, cant say its in firmware.cz keypad lights coupled with horizontally. (this time m nt crazy) cz when ur plug ur handsfree u can see some light pattern and they animate in vertical way. so firmware should treat fairly everyone in row.
so fault should be in LED. which has higher resistance than the other. (i guess so). |

Im not a happy chappy, ive just recieved my 4th K850i on O2 and this one is worse than all the rest ive had, the problem with this one is the bottom left corner of the lcd screen just below the "media" menu, there is a bright white led showing through. It looks like the screen hasnt been put on properly or not straight, ive phoned O2 today and they are sending me a new one out on fri, if this one isnt right im going to swap and move to a LG Viewty as from what ive read they have a much better reputation than these do. Last chance Sony lol ! |

Haha, I agree with you here! Probably poor manufacturing of the PCB... bah, can't believe I've picked up 2 bad apples now. Might just go with a green one, all the ones I've tried had none of these problems. |
