Everyone prefers Micro USB and a 3.5mm plug
1) Not quite.
2) Most people don't even care.
1 pretty many, yes
2 most people do actually care.
1) No, not when you consider that Esato - and all these sites that make a big deal out of something so small as a connector - is not even 1% of SE's market.
2) Most people don't even realise that their phone could have had a Micro USB or a 3.5mm jack, or even know what those are!
But if the phone works with Micro USB and 3.5mm jack, or even only micro USB, all people that buy the phone (knowing about the connection or not) will be happier at the end.
Because fastport is ugly and does break down quickly.
So it is better to have not an fastport certainly
Anyone that says people don't even know what a 3.5mm jack looks like are crazy IMO. Its been on every mp3 player and set of earphones since forever. Micro USB you might have a point. But the point is that a phone with a 3.5mm jack means only a wire is sticking out of the device instead of the big fastport connector. And using your own earphones are always better. |

The point is that the internal part of the fastport is quite space-saving compared to other solutions. Besides this it is more stable than a 3.5mm jack because of the outer connecting type. A 3.5mm jack can wear out much more quickly than the holding handle on the fast port.
The space-saving argument is strenthened even by the part of its multifunctionality.
Cool down...the video will be shown when time has come.
Please stop begging 'cause it won't rush the thing to come out earlier |

So if paris is announced in end of june m-one won't show it this week?
But please m-one there are so many leaks on the old proto so why keep the video internal. Just show it to us. |

Hmmn, so the video, and therefore all screenshots of the video which we have seen, are of the OLD PROTO. That would explain the small-ish screen. Hopefully they give us 2.8" VGA, that would be fantastic. Thanks very very much for this m-one, I hope we can take it as an indication of the announcement being soon . |

If this is the next big thing, why then no Touch Focus? |

Because it's a 2 year old video where that feature was yet to be contemplated.

I think the OLD PROTO in the video is the one having 2.8" and the newer proto by gliatiotis has 2.6" |

This characterization of new and old proto is misleading. I don't think anyone really knows which proto is the latest. There are many theories as to paris whether there are two versions or whatever. It seems we will know the truth in a month. For now i'd love to see that video of paris in action

Not a unique technology as such. They just use their own brand name for the RFID technology when the standard name for it is NFC (Near Field Communication). Also familiar from the Nokia 6131 NFC. And that NFC (Felica) has indeed quite a bit lower data rate than bluetooth currently has. Felica has 212 kb/s and bluetooth 2.0 has 2.1 Mb/s. Quite a difference.

It isn't unique, but it's unique in a sense that most phones don't really have it yet. This is much more useful in Japan because it is integrated with their transportation network.
Correct.
DoCoMo are a very demanding customer, whose phones are absolutely feature packed with the very very very latest in technology and also they are specifically adapted to the Japanese market (e.g. no GSM support).
Cont'd

No GSM support? All 905i phones have GSM Sim Card: So905iCS is a WCDMA and tri-band GSM.

Wow I love coming back here after a week, lots of fun discussion. Mostly irreverent to the thread.
Why fast port on the side? I prefer it on the bottom. |

I like fastport on the side actually. That way I can use a universal car cradle and still be able to charge my phone. just my opinion.
