SE and mobile manufactures do read these type of forums, Esato is a well established forum and a popular one on the internet.

When people write things on hear and if they are major SE do take note (developers read these type of forums to see what the customer needs are and what the faults are)

That doesnt mean to say that every thing will get corrected.

How do you think SE learn about most of the faults and that is the same with Nokia and other mobile forums.

I know that people on hear from SE read these as on the SE forum I see things that are wrote on hear one day are there on there own forum shortly after.

Who best than thge public to test things and then report back

Well, I just found another "defect" today, not sure if it is one, but it seems on some phones the backlight LEDs arent being controlled properly... when the brightness goes down, one of the LED's stays bright (particularly the one on the top left of the d-pad) and it gets annoying at times...

Or it could be the one to the top right of the d-pad that doesn't have its brightness being controlled properly, because it is a LOT dimmer than the rest. Meh, I'm unsure, but turning up the brightness makes the backlighting problem a lot less apparent. Pics to follow.

So far both the K850i's I've had are inconsistent in these "bugs/build qualities". Getting frustrated =/

Easiest way is to know is like for example The vf firmware.

They placed it on the R1CA037 one evening, many people updated and placed comments on hear like you do saying what had happened. By the end of the day, the firmware was removed and the following day R1DA038 was on there so the phones could update again and this time the icons are back.

I do know that SE read these forums and other compaines and networks do as well. Its free and good feedback for them.

@darrengf - glad O2 replaced your phone for you, fingers cross this one will beat all the previous one. So far my T-Mobile K850i blue has been OK now I've updated to 037 & done a master reset apart from the random reboots which are definitely still happening

ok, so now I'm on R1DA038.
Guessing that this was a fix for people like myself who'd done the recovery update to 037...
.. is there a way of telling if this is really 029 in disguise or if it is 037 with the voda branding? the 3/H icon have gone back to the old (better looking) 3G/3g+ in the top, and the icons in the menu aren't too big anymore.... but all this could be branding.

Also.. I keep getting an 'indexing of files failed due to lack of memory. Delete one or more files of your choice' message... there's 39mb free on the phone mem!

And a feature request for future, if SE do read this.. can we have a contact filter so I can set it to answer and immediatley hang up on certain contacts - I'm getting pestered by an autodialler!

It has and it hasnt. The flash still works better. But i can still get the phone to take dark pics with the flash on. So i use red eye norm to try and resolve some of the flash problems.

Hi Everyone! What i think about the flash problem...

I'm from Brazil and sorry about my bad english.

I Have a green K850i using the R1CA037 and was build on W42 of 2007.

The flash issue is really anoying. It's seem to be fixed after the 037 the problem of all black photos but an other problem remains...

It's seemns tha the ilumination of the flash is controled by the view you are pointing. Like the focus square. Let me explain an example:

If you are taking a picture of an person and have a car on the back it will control the ilumination acording to the place you are pointing. If is the person the car will look a lot darker. and vice versa. But this system dosen't work all the times. Like if i'm in a dark restaurant taking a picture of two persons and exactly pointing the focus square on to their faces sometimes it seens to dont work and the photo gets dark because another object more close to the cellphone like a vase with a flower etc is messyng all, dont matter with i am pointing to the faces of the people...

My old K800i dosent have this. Really sad I bought and 800 USD (here in Brazil) phone that make me take dark pictures 2 or 3 times before taking a right picture...

That all. Does anyone noticed this problem.???
