@ Toks,
I really can't complain too much about the N73 cam. I'm still learning to get optimum results by experimenting with macro mode distances, flash on and off in different light conditions etc etc.
I am impressed with the thing. I'm trying to imagine how good the Nokia N95's camera is going to be...

My only gripe is the camera button is on the bottom right side of the handset. Fine if you're taking two-handed portrait pics using your index finger, but can be a bit of a bitch to take them single-handed, unless you hold the phone very high up in your hand and then take cellphone pics the more conventional way, ie. with your thumb.

What's with Slovak beers being mostly 10%? Another different one care of my sister-in-law's close Slovak friend.
One of the nicer Slovak beers that I've tried, but Budweiser remains my firm fave.

Taken tonight;... getting to know all the N73's cam features and capabilites further:

SO everyone is quiet today...perhaps power?

Well, I have been on the road today. Went to a place next to Kyalami to pick up some switches earlier, and various little bits here and there. Other than that, it is friday. Dead. Half the office is gone, home or work, I dunno...will be dropping off a pc with the IT guy soon, so might just go straight home from there.

Yeah, it's eerily quiet around here today. Perhaps some are shocked at the SA batting collapse.

I see Tag Heuer are now planning on launching a cellphone in the coming months:

@wanqa, at least your thumb dexterity will improve tremendously. Nokias do have some use after all.

Ya Toks, I guess you're right, but there's always a risk of the phone toppling out of one's limited grip in such a coventional, single-handed picture-taking mode, so it's clear that the vast majority of pic-taking will be a two-handed affair.

Hope ya'll have a bril weekend.

So the looming silence is still present...mmm...

I just came out of a movie, it was called Deja Vu. Guys, if you enjoy clever movies, this one is well worth a watch. I thorougly enjoyed it! Going to spend the next while thinking about where the holes are in the story, as there are sure to be due to the subject matter of the film, but it was done brilliantly! It is a Jerry Buckheimer, does not seem as commercial as his others.

Well, gonna catch another movie while i am at it. Eragon this time. So until then, my brain is thinking in overdrive.

Looks like we'll have to try and keep this forum ticking over while other posters seem to be in some state of forum hibernation , Francois.

Ok, seriously have not had much to say of late. Had an interesting chat with Siosal the other morning on GoogleTalk about a girl that's been troubling me.
Seems like we're always chatting in the morning, while he's at work and I'm procrastinating my way to work.
Haven't posted pictures in a while, think I should start doing again. BTW. nice pics there wanqa!
About the cricket, nice fightback from the South Africans...loved the ball that got Amla- absolute corker.
Promised my gf that I'd take her to the cricket next week but there's also the J&B Met happening on the same day and I'd like to go there...decisions,decisions.

A big congrats to The Mdingi Express for reaching the 300 test wicket milestone.

@ da brixster,
Thanks; I coulda taken some nice pics outdoors today, but I've been so busy fixing up around the garden after the worst gales in the UK for 17 years pummelled properties and gardens here over the past 2 days. Fortunately no damage at all to the house, but the garden has all sorts of debris and branches etc. all over the show.

We're off to our usual Saturday night braaing session now. See ya'll later.

I think I may have found a novel way of falling asleep, as effective as counting sheep perhaps:
scroll through the threads and count how many posts Darth Mario (as mario2002 and mario2004) has, dare I say predictably, slagged off and worshipped S60, including (again...) this week:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=139658

Although the latest was perhaps in jest, with predictable references to the N95 (again)... and its GPS capabilities (again)... but many a true thought spoken in jest, wouldn't you say?

Come on Mario, many of us have had both UIQ and S60 handsets and obviously BOTH have their pros and cons.

S60=Damn slow! If got the firmware right it's top-of-the-range phone might have been a success.

@all. So why is it that whenever I walk into a computer store and ask about a laptop car charger I get a dumb 100 yard stare. They then either don't have stock, having "just" sold the last one or don't carry stock at all. When they do have the can't guarantee that it will work because my specific model isn't listed on the box. If I know the required voltage and amps of course it will work. I can't see the supplier listing every model of every brand on the packaging. The prices are also ridiculous, ranging from maybe R500 to R1500. On ebay I'll probably end up paying R250 max, including shipping.

Agreed, both operating systems certainly have their own strengths and weaknesses. I'm hoping that some boffin will come up with a Symbian app that cures stupidity with the click of a key- my boss.... Ai, let's not go there... Suffice it to say he's the laziest blighter to walk the face of the earth.

Wanqa, i've been hearing of 100mph winds over in the UK. Hopefully your property hasn't sustained any damage. Over here there seems to be consensus that a lynching party ought to visit the weather burea....
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.
