You phone is BRODed

Means it has the Blue Ring Of Death, a mix between hardware and software failure.

Try to reflash it using SEUS (sony ericsson update software) and keep us informed.

If this doesn't work, prepare your credit card and go to davinci team to have it reflashed.

how do i reflash it while it doesnt work in the 1st place..

Just download the Sony Ericsson Update Service program from their site, install it and follow the instructions it provides. You might have your phone back alive in less than an hour.
If this fails, you can use one of the paid services such as KulanKendi or DaVinci. Otherwise, you will have to send your phone to an SE service to have it fixed (for free if it's still under warranty).
K850i was the SE's most superb phone. And failure.
Advanced to Android.

Increasing or decreasing the volume during Alarm tone selection doesn't affect the alarm volume when the alarm actually rings. It still starts at the lowest volume and gradually increases.

May be u'd been able to change it but i've never experienced it. [addsig]

Hi guys, i have a little problem =/. I recently bought my k850i and i must say i do like the phone, but i can't seem to be able to update it to the latest firmware. I don't have a lot of experience with flashing/updating cell phones, so i am really confused. My current firmware is R1EA037, and when i start SEUS and try to update my phone, it goes "your mobile phone is up to date". Any ideas? =/

Ok i have figured out that my phone doesnt seem to reboot whathappens is that when the phone is used to write a message or im on the wap internet the phone screen goes blank and then if i leave the phone for 30seconds it comes back once i press a button the message or wap screen is still there normally if its restarted you loose the message.

Whats going on, does this 4 times a day roughly.

Probably it's because the BROD is rarely happening.

@ Huggons

I spoke to 3 UK last week, and they told me that they "had no idea when they would be revising their firmware to the new R1FA035, if at all". Which was helpful.

This may be a stupid, noobish question, but when you udate/flash through SEUS, do you need to take your simcard out to prevent losing contact data etc.? Sorry if that's a dumb query!

It will be safer to take out your sim card before flashing.

Guess I'm wrong then. Sorry about your phone, mate. Hope it will be fixed soon.
